Please give a warm, friendly welcome to Jack! Isn't he a cracker!
This fab boy has only recently arrived at Newport City Dogs Home, but he seems to be absolutely loving his new temporary residence! It seems Jack's family no longer want him and he has been living outdoors for a while, so even the kennels must seem like a palace to Jack. We simply can't imagine why his family have stopped loving him, he is such a lovely, responsive boy.
When we brought him out for first 'howdees' Jack greeted Bas with polite sniffs, as dogs do, and they took it in turns to sample the treat menu, pate and sausages!
But it didn't take us long to work out what really captures Jack's attention!
Not all dogs like the same things! It took a little bit of creativity to get a picture of Jack and Bas in the same frame, ball in one hand, treat in the other!
Perfect! Smile boys!
Jack is pretty obsessed with balls! He absolutely loves the chase, and will bring the ball back and throw it at your feet time and time again....
and again......
and again......
and again! Sometimes he came back with two balls....
because playing ball is his very very favourite thing in the whole world!
No prizes for guessing what's on the floor just out of camera shot...
Well, you going to throw it or what?
Jack is about 7 years old, and has he has been signed over is available for rehoming immediately.
If you want more information about Jack, or would like to meet him, please contact the staff at Newport City Dogs' Home on 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm or 2pm - 4pm, Monday to Saturday or pop in for a visit! No appointment needed, and no need to bring your own balls - Jack has plenty!
Rehoming fees are from £100 - £200 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment, and microchip. It is a condition of the rehoming contract that all dogs are neutered/spayed. Subsidised vouchers are available at £35, this is in addition to the rehoming fee.
All applicants will be homechecked prior to approval.
