Pointy peeps - prepare to lose your hearts....... Please welcome Rosie.. And her best buddy, Bill.. This fab pair arrived at the Home today via another rescue. We're told they have only known each other for a week or so, but they are such good friends already! They are an absolute delight to be around, goofy and funny, friendly and affectionate, everything a dog should be! Many people imagine that greyhounds need lots of exercise and are high maintenance dogs, but this is a bit of a myth! Those long legs are designed for sprinting, not marathons, and as if to prove a point, Rosie and Bill spent a few minutes chasing and racing around the garden... and generally goofing around together.... But before long, they both decided that was enough running around for one day! Rosie is a stunning blue coated girl, with hypnotic amber eyes, and a cheeky sense of humour! She is *quite* partial to treats - and although she was positively dribbling at the smell of pate, she did manage to keep 'four paws on the floor' while waiting for her turn... Rosie is a laid-back lady with style! Don't exert yourself there Rosie Bill is suave, sophisticated, and devilishly handsome He certainly knows how to woo the ladies! And like Rosie, Bill is adorably cheeky! As they are both neutered, Rosie and Bill are sharing a double room in the stable block at the hotel du dogues, so casual visitors won't see them in the main kennel block. If you'd like to meet them, please ask for them by name. Although they are good friends, the staff will be happy to rehome them separately. Unless of course someone wanted a ready made pointy family As they have been signed over to the Home, and are fully vaccinated, Rosie and Bill are available for adoption immediately. If you would like more information, or would like to meet them, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Who would these two beautiful dogs suit? Simple answer anyone. These two are just so elegant and laid back they wouldn't trouble anyone. It was like walking two feathers an absolute delight and they have such fabulous manners around each other and other dogs. Saturday's park run they bumped into a Dalmatian and as the picture below shows they were impeccable Hi how do you do... These two will take up minimum space will be as lazy or busy as you want and will never leave your side. Can safely say they are an absolute pleasure xx

Fab to walk, absolutely fantastic temperaments, sweetest nature. Would love a home together or with another play mate as they seem to enjoy the company.

What a perfect pair to take walking after a short break over the Easter holidays! Rosie and Bill were so excited when we came over to the stable block with one of the staff, though they waited patiently as she put their leads on and trotted elegantly out to join us. They walk incredibly well on lead and with each other - at times it was just like holding a piece of string with nothing on the end. I think the only time I felt a tiny bit of tension on the lead was when we stopped for water and treats and they both had to make sure they were front and centre for treat-time! If you ever need a nice calm walk, I'd definitely recommend taking these two gorgeous pointy dogs out. They're gentle, sedate, and ever-so delicate. They gave other dogs a little bit of attention but otherwise were very content to just carry on and do their own thing. Both were very happy to receive some affection and made a point of looking at passersby with those big doe-eyes in hopes of getting a fuss, and though they're not the sort of jump all over you and wash your face, there's something very comforting about how they just settle softly into your cwtches. Rosie seems to be the younger of the pair and showed a little more interest in other dogs than Bill. At one point when we stopped at the water for some photos, a pair of swans landed on the water started to make their way over. Both dogs were quite intrigued by the quickly advancing birds but when we decided to leave the swans to it (no-one wants to mess with swans, especially when they're nesting!), Rosie kept looking back, not quite content to head away. She was easy enough to distract though and once her curiosity was sated, she happily trotted back up to Bill and I. Bill seemed to have a slight limp at times, though possibly he just needed a bit of a stretch of his older legs, and walked at a slightly slower pace but these pals were only too happy to match each other's paces and slow down/speed up as needed. If we fell behind too much, Bill would do a little trot so he could catch up to Rosie. Rosie and Bill are both fairly big fans of treats and take them very gently, though those lovely long noses can definitely find their way into treat bags and pockets if you're not too careful! They waited patiently as I took photos - even if they wouldn't both look at the camera at the same time - and didn't squabble over the treats as we fed them both. Rosie and Bill are two absolutely fantastic dogs who could happily be rehomed separately or together and make a wonderful addition to any family. They're the perfect calming influence on any home, though I'm sure they'd be only too happy to oblige to some sprinting and playtime in the garden if asked

If you're in the market for the most content and chilled-out companion, look no further! We took Rosie out again yesterday but this time on her own, as Bill was on kennel rest. However some little birdies did tell us that Bill might've found his forever home, so I'm sure he didn't mind too much that we took Rosie out without him. It did take us a little while to get down the lane with Rosie but only because everyone we passed, from walkers to visitors to staff, just had to come over and say hello and get a cuddle and kiss from this gorgeous pointy lady. She's such a calming influence and after our walk, combined with our relaxing walk with Misty from earlier, I was ready to head off to bed for a nap! Work had other ideas but I'd love nothing more than to stretch out on the sofa with Rosie for a good old cwtch. She doesn't like to stray too far from you and walks comfortably at your side or just ahead, always keeping perfect pace. The only time Rosie stopped when we didn't was either to go to the toilet or when she heard some pigeons roosting under the train bridge. She's got excellent hearing and sense of smell. Probably eyesight too, this lady has it all! At the benches she's always very interested in the mysterious bag of treats, and will have a good old sniff in there too, but is wonderfully gentle and patient when taking treats. Rosie isn't really one for sitting, at least so far, but she'll happily fix you with those beautiful amber eyes in exchange for treats and that's good enough for me! While we were having gentle cwtches and watching the water we got a bit of surprise from a friendly off-lead husky-type cross (I think, it was a very short husky otherwise!), but Rosie took it in her stride and didn't try to get too close as the other dog was called away. She watched the dog leave but with only faint interest and moved on afterwards without any issue. We were out for about an hour and Rosie was looking a little tired as we headed back to the Home, so while I'm sure she'd have quite happily followed us wherever we went, sweet little Rosie probably isn't the dog to adopt if you want a marathon partner. She's a chilled-out lady with a heart of gold and I'm incredibly envious of whoever will be lucky enough to have this gorgeous girl become part of their family.

I took the gorgeous Rosie out last weekend and what a treat it was! I can't say anything that has not already been said, this girlie is a dream! She's relaxed, no bother at all, not in the slightest! While we were out walking a tiny spaniel puppy came running around the corner and made itself jump because he didnt realise Rosie was there, he cautiously sniffed near Rosie, Rosie returned the stiff then that was it, the owner came running over and apologised but there was really no need, Rosie seemed to like saying hello to the little dog! Rosie had a poorly belly when we took her out, I really hope she is feeling better. I'm sure it wont be long until this girl has her forever home! All the best pretty girl!

We had the great pleasure of taking Rosie out for our first ever walk at Cardiff Dogs Home. Well what can I say about this gorgeous girl. She was a delight to walk and is as light as a feather on the lead, so much so I had to check she was still actually there a couple of times. Rosie was fantastic with my 3 children, very gentle and attentive stopping to check where they were if they were walking behind us. We passed a couple of dogs on our walk and Rosie showed impeccable manners. After spending time with Rosie and seeing what a lovely girl she is I can't imagine it's going to be long before she has her forever sofa to cuddle up on.
