Isn't Willow simply adoooooorable! Willow has been signed over to the home due to a recent very tragic change in her owners circumstances. Willow is a little on the portly side, but she has been well looked after, and was very loved by her owners. When we got her out for her photo's she was like a bottle of pop! Verrrrrry excited to be able to kick up her heels, and as loving and affectionate as a staffie should be! We're told she has lived with children and is good with other dogs, but she was a little too excitable today for us to throw our young volunteers into the mix So Miss Babs provided the entertainment for Willow today .... Can I have it? No chance Miss Babs! Squeaky toy is mine! ......and Willow followed her around like a shadow! Willow isn't daft, she knows where we keep the pate! ooops! That's the end of the pate then! As Willow has been signed over, she is available for rehoming immediately. If you'd like to meet her please contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME for more information. TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays. Rehoming fees are from £100 - £200 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment, neutering and microchip.

Willow is such a loveable little thing. She loves a cuddle and so lovely on the lead she is perfect ! She is such a pleasure to walk, walks alongside you slightly in front and turns to look up at you every now and again. She loves affection and she is such a lovely temperament ! I hope she finds her forever home soon as she has so much love to give !

Hi James. The first thing to do is to give the home a ring, to check that she is still available and that you and she are a good match, then to pop down and meet her.
The contact details and opening times for the kennels are on the first post of this thread. If all goes well, you will need to fill in a rehoming form and provide both pictures of your garden and a veterinary reference, to say that you have provided adequate veterinary care for any other pets that you have had.
Good luck.

Hi, Cassie, thanks for your reply I have been trying to ring but the number is engaged. Maybe I've left it too late but I've not long found the site. I will keep trying and can come down tomorrow if that's ok?
Regards, James

Hi James, You'd be more than welcome to pop down tomorrow and meet Willow and maybe some of the other fab dogs. The home is open from 11am tomorrow and there's also a Dog's Trust community event on at the dogs home so you may even be able to grab yourself a cuppa whilst filling in an application form 😉 Good luck. There's some particularly super girls and boys at Newport at the moment! Hi, Cassie, thanks for your reply I have been trying to ring but the number is engaged. I walked Willow this morning. She is a lovely little character, has an enduring mischievous side. very affectionate and likes to interact with you. I enjoyed spending time with her.

I walked Willow yesterday, a bundle of lovelyenergy. we were off to a quick start but she soon settled down and is very sociable turning around to acknowledge me. She puts a smile on my face each time I have walked her, inquisitive and a little mischievous you can not help but smile. She also sat and gave me her paw when we stopped a few times, she may have smelt a doggy treat. I hope someone is interested in her soon.

We walked willow this morning and she was fantastic. Lots of energy and wanted to run everywhere. Once she burned off some energy she walked just in front of me and seemed particularly taken with our 9 year old son, she wouldn't leave him alone.

I notice willow has lived with children before, we are a family of 2 adults and 2 children age 16 and 6. I have had staffies before and wondered if willow would suitable for us (in theory) I appreciate we'd need to come and meet her but before we made the trip down I thought I'd check.

Hi Rhi! In theory Willow could be the girl for you ☺️ But if our match making skills don't work their magic then we have a couple of staff's who I'm sure would love to meet you all. I child test all the Newport Staffies with my own children 😉 The volunteers are are Newport City Dogs Home on a Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 11am so probably best to call down one of those days if you can so we can chat with you.
