Hi,
I'm interested in adopting Sheba.
My main question is how is she with cats? (because there is 1 in the house)
Is she neutered?
what's her health like?
I live in Bournemouth with my 18 yr old son, no younger children, own my home with a fair size back garden, easy access to the beach etc.
I've been around dogs most of my life, but haven't had a dog for around 10yrs, mainly due to a change in domestic circumstances which meant I was working away from home. Things have changed now and I have enough time to give a dog a good life.
I still work during the day - hence I'm looking for an older dog who doesn't mind a good long sleep!, but I have my son, my daughter, my partner and her son (20yrs old) who can look after her and walk her, plus there are plenty of dog walker in my area.
If you think I'm suitable to adopt Sheba, please get back in touch and I'll arrange a time to come meet her.
Regards,
Steve.

Hi Steve, Sheba has been staying with me for a few weeks and we have several cats locally, when we have been out on our walks she has shown nothing but a smile and a wagging tail to the cats we have seen - she just wants to play I feel! However, we of course have not come nose to nose so it'll be best, if you can, to bring your cat along should you come along to meet Sheba. But the staff can advise you further on this - do give them a call. Sheba has arthritis in her legs, she generally moves well, she enjoys her walks and is eager to go out and she loves to play fetch with a tennis ball. She does however have days when she struggles. She generally only manages two 10 minute walks a day - we spend a bit longer out but usually its just watching the world go by! Or scouting out humans to fuss her. You will need to check with the staff about if she is neutered, but I imagine she has been - but give the staff a call to double check. I work full time and have been popping home at lunchtime to let her out in the garden - she is more then happy with this. We usually have have play time in the garden - this usually involves a tennis ball and some rolling in the grass (Sheba, not me ) so I don't feel there will be any need really for a dog walker in the daytime, but of course that is your decision if you do adopt her. Sheba loves human company and will adore being around a house full of people, she loves it when we have visitors! Sheba may be older but she is still a puppy at heart, she will give you so much love & affection....she loves to be smoothed Sheba is still with me so if you are looking to come along to meet her please message me & I will ensure she is back at the home and try to be there myself to talk to you more about this wonderful girl.

Hi,
Sheba sounds great.
Would it be possible to come and see her around 3:00 this Sunday(29th)?
I cannot bring the cat as it's a 3hr journey, it would disturb her too much.
If the time and date are ok with you I'll email the dogs home so that they know whats happening.
Regards, Steve.

Hi Steve,
Pleased to hear you like the sound of Sheba. I'm able to meet on Sunday however I can just check you have spoken to the staff at the dogs home about Sheba potentially living with a cat & not being able to bring the cat on the trip with you? They'll be able to advise you better on this as I would hate for you to travel a long way without speaking to staff first.

Hi There,
Just spoken to the dogs home and explained why I don't want to bring the cat with me and they said that was fine.
So if it's still ok with you I'll come down at 3:00 on Sunday?
Regards,
Steve.

This is wonderful news. I am so pleased that the lovely Sheba has found her forever home.
Jenc I bet you will miss this gorgeous girl after fostering her for so long. However, I am sure that all the pictures and updates you put on here really played a part in helping to find her the perfect new home.
Let's hope Sheba thoroughly enjoys her retirement years!!
