Please welcome our teeny tiny cutie patooties Vinnie and Rhea Vinnie is 3 years old, and is the more confident of the two.... Rhea is 2 years old, and a little more timid than Vinnie... These little 'uns have been signed over to the Home due to an unexpected and unfortunate change of circumstances. They have lived with children, other dogs and kitties and have been much loved pets. They are both a little shy though, and although they love their walks with our volunteers they are not very confident being in the great outdoors. Vinnie is a little more confident than Rhea. He loves being around other dogs and people! And he doesn't mind showing you his belly for a gentle tummy tickle! 'You should try it Rhea - this is great fun'!Rhea isn't quite so quick to make friends with strangers, but once she gets to know you she is a very loving little girl Vinnie and Rhea having a walk in the park! Click for VIDEOThe staff are looking for separate homes for Vinnie and Rhea, but they would like them both to be rehomed with a confident and happy resident dog who can help them gain more confidence as they settle into their new homes. If you'd like to meet Vinnie or Rhea please contact the staff at Newport City Dogs Home on 01633 290902, or pop in for a visit. No appointment needed but you might want to telephone ahead of your visit to make sure the staff are still applications on these little 'uns. Visiting hours are between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays VinnieRheaRehoming fees are from £100 - £200 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment, neutering and microchip.

Hi how do I go about being considered as an adopter for one of these lovely dogs preferably Vinnie as I have a bitch already. Thank you Hi Sarah, you'll need to go to the home in order to meet Vinnie and then put in an application. Probably best to give them a call on 01633 290902 first, just to make sure that they are still accepting applications. Good luck!

Do these dogs like to walk? Or do they prefer to potter around a garden?

Do these dogs like to walk? Or do they prefer to potter around a garden? Yes they like to walk! A potter around a garden isn't really enough for any dog, regardless of size.

Hi! Vinnie and Rhea are gorgeous! We have a collie, I've heard Daxies have quite a lot of energy, but would my crazy collie be too much?

I was just wondering why the pair aren't able to rehomed together - is there a problem? Just curious as they are adorable!

Hello Beth. Totally adorable aren't they! Vinnie has been rehomed and Rhea is enjoying being the centre of attention. The staff felt it was in both dogs best interests to a be rehomed individually for a number of reasons which they were/are happy to discuss these with applicants. They're still holding on for that 5* home for Rhea. 🙂 I was just wondering why the pair aren't able to rehomed together - is there a problem? Just curious as they are adorable!

Vinnie and Rhea have both found fabulous forever homes! Vinnie was first to leave, and although both of the little 'uns had loads of interest Rhea was holding out for the perfect forever home, and she found it! Looks like a verrrrrry comfy forever sofa Rhea! And it was love at first sight for Rhea and her little yorkie friend Ollie Happy Days
