Have walked Shadow three times this week and he's absolutely fabulous. Whilst out he has been much admired for his stunning good looks by various members of the public so I'm hoping he will soon be snapped up. He has a wonderful temperament both with humans and other dogs and obeys commands so has obviously had some training. He really is a dog with a difference.

Good evening friends it's me Shadow the Akita, however I have additional names like Chad and Teddy π€π€ Alex and I went on a very long walk/run this morning and that still didn't tire me out hehe. Alex says that I am sooo nosy I should be part of the neighbourhood watch team ππππ I must admit I do like a good old nose and people watch, but who doesn'tπππ I'm not afraid to get myself muddy or to pass wind, but shhh we won't tell anyone that. I am very attentive and I alwaysssss listen, even though Alex does not stop taking. I do like a good old cuddle as well and a back massage (she spoils me I know) I am very friendly and Alex says I'm like a big teddy bear, and even though my name is Shadow she is adamant on calling me Chad or Teddy ππππ I don't know how I put up with her for so long this morning hehehehe. Lots of love and Shadow AKA Chad cuddles β€β€β€β€β€β€β€β€β€β€β€

It was 'Date Day' today! With the agreement and supervision of the staff lots of our dogs got to meet some of their fellow residents. Shadow stepped out with Lady, and he was an absolutely gentleman! Shadow was like a smitten kitten, but Lady was more interested in the food. Good job Shadow doesn't stint when it comes to giving a Lady a good time. Pate party in the garden - that's the way to win a girls heart Shadow Ladies first! Good boy Shadow!

My partner and I took Shadow for a walk today. Even though he was lucky enough to have two walkies prior to us taking him out, he was SO excited to stretch his legs again! I am sure he would love to have ten walks a day if he could. More volunteers needed! Shadow is a very strong boy and likes to lead you on, however, if you hold him on a shorter lead just for a second, he stops almost immediately and would patiently wait next to you (especially if he hears the crinkling of a bag full of treats ).* He knows some basic commands and is clearly a very intelligent boy, who has great potential to learn much more once his special human comes along and takes him home. *We were given permission by staff members to give Shadow treats, always consult with them first if you'd like to do that too. Isn't he just GORGEOUS?! And look at that swirly tail! Patiently waiting at the crossing in a lovely "sit". Shadow gives the gentlest "paw" you've ever seen - lightly tapping you with his chunky paw as if he's trying his hardest not to disturb you. Please feel free to share the Facebook post I made with photos from today! Due to the specific requirements for Shadow's re-homer, I feel it would take a long time until we find an experienced candidate on here, but if a northern breeds lover (who might not necessarily be actively looking for a new pet) stumbles across Shadow, he might get re-homed in a heart beat!

Took Shadow out again today. He was a little bit too excitable right off the bat but meeting so many dogs along the way probably didn't make it better! He is such a social butterfly at heart, so curious about other dogs, always! But, of course, as he's not allowed to "say hi", we found that holding him on the side of the road and giving him fuss while other walkers pass by is the easiest way to contain him and focus his attention elsewhere. He did cause a little bit of trouble out of the blue but luckily that wasn't when were around dogs or people. Just started jumping and pulling in different directions quite abruptly. Even tried chowing on his lead, but can you blame this young, tireless boy? He has bags and bags of energy! And only gets 2-3 short walks on a lead daily if he's lucky! I hope he doesn't stay in the kennels much longer, because I can see him being extremely bored whilst there. He is very smart and, again, super energetic, so kennels is the worst place for a young boy like him. I present to you a couple of photos from today's session. (This boy can be on dog food commercials, sign him up for some puppy modelling )

We took Shadow for a really long walk out to the Bay and around a few days ago and got some lovely pictures. I don't know how often he's seen the sea before but he was fascinated with it, that, and I admit the pigeons and seagulls also! Although he is strong, he was awesomingly well behaved, when we stopped at numerous traffic lights and told him to 'sit' he was very obliging, the same applied to when we stopped for a sit down at various points. When he needed a drink, he drank it very nicely and when we encountered many dogs that were close to us off the lead, even though he appeared interested, if we told him to 'come on' with a little encouragement, he would carry on at a safe distance. Although, we did feel a little sorry for him when he was watching other doggies running playing catch off the lead. All of this points to the fact he is an absolutely gorgeous, as well as very intelligent dog and I hope he finds the right owner soon that can provide him with the stimulation he deserves.

I went out with Alex this morning and we went on a two hour walk, I loved it. I was on my best behaviour because sometimes I can get a little too exited but Alex told me that she couldn't believe how great I wasππ Whoop Whoop ππ I love to sniff things and Alex says I'm another Mr McSnifferson at the Hotel like a few of my other friends hehe. Although, I must admit I do get a little exited when I have a poop, I don't know why but I just want to do a big leap and run off like a naughty child π€£π The best part is Alex trying to pick up my poop, don't worry though I settle down very quick πππ Alex says I'm the heartbreak kid of the Hotel because I always left her hanging for kisses and cuddles hehe ππ€π

So unfortunately it seems that darling Shadow has been brought back into the home. I took him for a walk today, and I am honestly completely baffled as to how a dog like him has ended up without a home. He is like the perfect dog - so well-behaved and responsive to commands that I'm sure he'd at least be a finalist at Crufts! At traffic lights in particular, Shadow was stop immediately when I said 'Wait' and then would wait patiently, just watching the world go by, until I told him to go again. He hardly pulled on the lead at all and would also sit on command too - he really is an intelligent boy that's definitely already had some training in the past. He is also, of course, absolutely beautiful. Strikingly so. This dog is one who turns heads and makes people smile as you walk past, his puffy little tail dancing along behind him. Shadow is also very affectionate. He was well up for some fuss and even offered up a kiss or two! Shadow, I'm sure it won't be long until you find your forever home, buddy. You're absolutely wonderful, and will make a fantastic companion to whichever family is blessed enough to take you in.

Shadow and I took a speedy walk out today! What a lovely boy he is! He is strong on the lead but easily controllable , all he wants to do is have a good run but he had the wrong walker for that today so he made do with my quickest walk!!!! No bother passing other dogs, interested but no aggression and he does a lovely sit and paw for his treats, which he takes gently. This boy needs his forever sofa soon πΎππΎπΆ
