We're kinda thinking this little fella won't need too much help finding his forever home
Rocky is a stunning Frenchie boy. He has been signed over to the home by his owner, who paid a verrrry lot of money for him as a tiny pup with a pedigree as long as your arm! And the reason he has been signed over? Rocky was bought along with a littermate. As pups they played together as cute as you like, but as soon as they reached maturity they started to fight. Badly. And Rocky's heartbroken owner decided it was in the best interests of both dogs that one of them had to go. And the owner was right. It is NEVER a good idea to rehome littermates together, any responsible breeder would never consider rehoming littermates. Reputable rescues and rehoming centres don't rehome littermates together, it's inviting trouble. So please peeps, the next time you see a litter of pups up for rehoming, think twice before you accuse the rehoming centre of being 'cruel' to separate them. Anyways, this is Rocky's thread - let's get back to business!
Rocky is two years old, he was born on 4th November 2015, and he has lived with another dog, but it all went very pear-shaped, so the staff will be looking to rehome Rocky as an 'only child'.
Rocky has lived with a five year old child though - and as they weren't siblings there were absolutely no issues there
He loves toys.....
And insists that you play with him! He is the tuggy-maester!
Yes he's cute, with his butterfly ears, and his winning smile....
....but you may need deep pockets if you want to adopt a Frenchie! Insurance isn't cheap for flat-faced dogs, and they are prone to a number of inherent health issues due to poor breeding practices.
But without a doubt Rocky is a fabulous little lad, and his adoptive family is going to be verrrrrry lucky to have him!
As the staff are expecting a lot of interest in this little fella, they are requesting that vet references are provided before they will accept applications.
So if you would like to offer Rocky a forever home, please contact your vet and ask them to email a vet reference to EAbell @ cardiff.gov.uk (no spaces)! The reference from your vet should confirm..
1. That the applicant has previously had a dog registered with that veterinary practice, FROM: date and age of dog UNTIL:date and age of dog
2. That the dog was neutered
3. That the dog had annual vaccinations OR that other measures were taken to ensure the dog had protection from disease, eg titre testing
4. That if the dog is no longer with the applicant, it had died of old age or disease, and didn't just disappear off the vet's records
5. That in the opinion of the vet the dog received timely and appropriate veterinary care
