Please give a gentle welcome to Trixie This darling little lady was brought in as a stray by the wardens. She is chipped but the staff have been unable to contact her owner, and no-one has come forward for her. She was born on 8th July 2011, so is 6 and a half years old. Her coat is matted and stained. It's probably fair to say that whoever owned Trixie stopped loving her some time ago Trixie seemed resigned to her fate. She didn't seem to expect kindness or affection... But she crept slowly and gingerly towards Aunty Janet, who invited Trixie onto her lap for a cuddle.... Tiny baby steps..... And finally, she leaned up for a kiss, as if to say 'thank you for being kind'.... As Trixie was found as a stray, it's still possible her owners will come forward to claim her, but if they don't come forward she will be available for rehoming from 18th January. The staff will take applications on her immediately and if you'd like to meet her please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. All our incoming dogs at Cardiff Dogs Home are seen by the vets at the earliest opportunity - the vets hold a surgery at CDH on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for our dogs. We are sad to report that Trixie saw the vet this morning, and they have advised the staff that she has a heart murmur, which apparently is all too common in Cavaliers. We hope that this will not deter everyone who has expressed an interest in Trixie, we hope to have more information soon regarding the implications, and in any event the staff will be happy to discuss her condition with potential rehomers.
