Did you watch 'Britains Favourite Dog' on ITV last week? Bud would have loved it! Ben Fogle and Sara Cox revealed the results of a poll of 10,000 people, with plenty of celebrity pet owners, including Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby taking part in the programme. Even Prince Harry was included as owners tried to explain why their favourite breed was the best. So, guess which breed came fourth - out of literally thousands of different breeds.... The staffie! Bud certainly knows the staffie rules! He's friendly and verrrrrry affectionate! And he's got a mile-wide staffie smile... And when he looks at you, he makes you feel like you are the only person in the whole wide world. Staffies absolutely adore their owners, they would literally give their lives for their families. So why Bud's family has abandoned him is a complete mystery Bud was a little over-excited to be out of his kennel for the first time, and we tried a little bit of gentle shoulder massage to de-stress him... Oooooh, that's LOVELY! Know Miss Lesley, if you would be so kind, a gentle back rub at the same time..... Perfect! I'm in heaven! Once Bud has hit the walkers list we're looking forward to seeing him out and about with the fabulous Pilgrims. We think this fella is going to be loads of fun! So if you want to be the proud owner of one of Britainโs most popular dogs make a date with a staffie! Please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Poor Bud was rushed to the vets very soon after he arrived at CDH. He was clearly very poorly, and has had a number of investigations, scans, x-rays, blood tests etc, whilst being supported with intravenous meds and fluids. He has the vets completely flummoxed, as they have been unable to diagnose exactly what is making him so poorly. But we are in touch with the vets daily, and Bud seems to be holding his own. The vets have advised that as they can't find the cause of Bud's illness, all they can do at the moment is treat his symptoms and keep him comfortable. They have assured us that over the last few days he definitely seems to be regaining strength, and we have everything crossed that this beautiful boy will continue to battle his way back to fitness. Please keep Bud in your thoughts. We will update as soon as we have news.

Walked this lovely, happy and smiley boy this afternoon! You would never know he'd been poorly! He was excited to be out and was off like a rocket down the lane, with a few jumps up to say hello. He settled into a nice pace and does a lovely staffy snorty noise most of the time, you can feel it vibrating through his lead! He loved everyone we met and greeted them all with a waggy tail. We only encountered one four legged friend but there was no reaction from him at all. A lovely good to go guy! He made me smile for the whole of our time together. ๐๐๐พ๐๐
