Please welcome Belle Belle was signed over to the Home along with her best pal, Coco. Belle is the smaller (and we think younger) of the two, and whilst she isn't quite as 'chunky monkey' as Coco, it will be really important that Belle's weight is carefully managed to mitigate any health issues associated with poor breeding practices of brachycephalic (flat-faced) dogs. Hopefully a good diet and lots of walkies with our Pilgrims will help Belle shed a few pounds before she leaves us, and rehomers will be need to help Belle get down to and maintain her optimum weight. The staff will require applicants to provide a comprehensive vet reference, and preference will be given to applicants who own or who have previously owned a brachcephalic (flat faced) dog. They are generally expensive to insure, and can develop lots of health issues, so the staff would prefer someone who has experience of taking care of a dog of similar breed. If you couldn't cope with schnuffly sounds that are a constant reminder you have a pug in the house, maybe a pug isn't for you, but Belle has lived happily with other dogs, and if you have lived with a schnorty dog before and it's a case of 'the more the merrier' pop down to meet her soonest If you'd like to express an interest in rehoming Coco please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Not sure how long anyone can resist that face! Are Belle and Coco to be rehomed together?
