Meet Billy Big Boy. The most handsome staffie in the world. Probably It's fair to say Billy may be carrying a few extra pounds, but we're determined to help him find his waist, and we've got our lovely walkers on the task already! Regular exercise, along with a weight control diet will have Billy Big Boy looking and feeling like a million dollars in no time! He gives the most enthusiastic cuddles! Only invite Billy Big Boy onto your lap if you REALLY mean it! Miss Lesley puckered up and got the best face flannel wash we've ever seen. We were laughing so much we didn't manage to capture what came next, but safe to say you KNOW when you've been kissed by Billy Big Boy! He met our resident temperament tester Bas who thoroughly approves of Billy Big Boy's exemplary doggy manners! Ready for walkies? Billy will be booked in for his big boy's op as soon as he has served his seven days in the care of Newport City Dogs Home, and if you have the space in your home and your heart for a whole lotta staffie loving, come to meet Billy Big Boy! You won't be disappointed If you'd like to meet Billy pop up to Newport City Dogs Home! TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays. Rehoming fees are from £120 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment and neutering.

Hi we met Billy today he is awesome.
Just a couple of queries :
How old is he - I think Katie said about 6?
What is he like with other dogs while out walking? He will be an only dog at home.
We will come back on Wednesday to meet with a member of FOWD.
We have put in an application and would like to express out interest. Does Billy have any other interest?
Many thanks Melissa

We can't be sure of Billy's age as he arrived as an unchipped stray, so we have no background. We would guestimate maybe around 6 years +/- 2, it really is difficult to age a dog. Billy has been fabulously well mannered around other dogs, including two off-lead beagles who charged over to him yesterday to say 'Hi'. Billy has won more than a few hearts since he arrived, and we have given out a few application forms to be returned with supporting documents, so hopefully he'll have a busy week and won't be waiting too long to meet his forever peeps! Good luck Billy

Hi melissahIt may well have been that when you rang he didn't have any applications. There were rehomers who visited yesterday afternoon. Did the staff explain the rehoming process to you? Although they will take up to 3 applications for each dog, applications are assessed individually against the best needs of the dog. Look forward to meeting you on Wednesday! ☺️
