Meet Sadie Sadie is four years old and has been signed over to Cardiff Dogs Home as her owner is poorly and can no longer look after her. There's no kind way to say this, Sadie is obese We don't have a great deal of information about her past life, but we're told she is good with people and other dogs, and she has been used to being left for fairly long periods of time without a problem. Sadie does look as if she has had puppies at some point. Sadie loves toys - she was absolutely delighted with her gift from the toybox, pink flamingo! Sadie will need a weight-controlled diet and plenty of exercise to help her regain her trim figure! No more chocolate biscuits, cake or extra tit bits Sadie! We're hoping to see her shed a few pounds whilst she's at the Home and her rehomers will need to help her maintain a steady weight loss until she reaches her ideal weight. For more information or if you'd like to meet Sadie please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Our dear Sadie has hit the doggie Jackpot
Two of our most trusted volunteers offered Sadie a day away from CDH - and the rest is history!!
They fell in love and Sadie is already making herself totally at home with her new forever family.

I thought I would post an update on Sadie (now Bonnie). She has been with us now for almost two weeks and is an absolute delight. She has already lost almost a kilo in weight and is enjoying her walks, she goes mad with excitement when we get her lead out.
We did have a nagging worry that she may have been pregnant. Her nipples are enlarged and she is lactating and also hiding her toys in her bed. She had an ultrasound scan today in our vets and I am very pleased to say that she is experiencing a false pregnancy - phew, what a relief for us and Bonnie!
She loves playing with her toys, the soft squeaky ones are her favourites....
She is the perfect dog, sleeps all night in her bed, happy to be left alone in the house for a short while, hardly ever barks (even when all the dogs in the neighbourhood are barking).
I don't think she has ever been played with much and she certainly doesn't respond to any commands but she has learned "sit" already since she has been with us. All that is now going to change for her, this is just the start of her new life and we are both so pleased to be able to share it with her. She is a joy!
