My girl spaniel has really fine silky fur and never needed more than a trim at home, but Jake spaniel (adopted a couple of months back) is very different he has his before and after pics on his forever home thread. When I first met him the first words out of my mouth were 'aww it's a fat old spaniel', I was shocked when they said he was only 4. However when I came back to take him home and he was a different dog with the haircut they gave him in the pound, he looked young, thin, energetic and well happier! If he had been like that from the start I think he would have found a home before I'd ever met him. In fact I'm still not convinced that fat old looking dog that went in is the same hound that came out! Needless to say he will remain well trimmed and I'll get him a sexy little jacket next winter!

This is my ex boyfriends OES. Everytime he got a haircut he looked like a different doggie! And their groomer moved away, and they never found someone else to clip him, so my ex's mum would just buzz bits off as and when needed as he wouldnt stand still too long.. It did lead to him looking hilarious and like a womble for a while ;D Before; And after! And not impressed with looking like a womble with a pencil sharpened snout!
