Good evening folks, wanted to make a recommendation and ask people for theirs on dog friendly holidays. We'd been looking for somewhere to go away for a few days with friends and the 3 dogs we have between us that would be suitable for all of us. We found Bed and Basket just outside St Austell in Cornwall. ( www.bedandbasket.co.uk/ ) Reasonably priced, lovely accommodation etc but more importantly totally focused on the dogs (no limit and no additional charge). Open living, dog baskets, tennis balls, throws for sofa's, dog towels etc provided, large secure private patio and an exercise field. The most handy bit was the fact that if we wanted to go out to somewhere that we couldn't take the dogs we had our own private heated kennel and little outdoor run and the owners were happy to check in on them if we were going to be out for a while. I realise this sounds like an advert but i just wanted to share this as we've had a great relaxing few days full of fish, chips, pasties, beaches, rain and riverside walks (and a few cheeky pints). We're off to Cefn-du holiday cottages in Pembrokeshire in the summer has anyone been there as we've not been before but thought it looked good? Does anyone else have any recommendations for dog friendly holidays?

Bern & Caz (DD) went to a lovely camping one last year. Bern - where was it? Craig y Nos is absolutely fabulous (if a little pricey) and there's a lovely place in Lougher Banfield LodgeThese two venues have very kindly donated short break hollibobs for the Fonmon Show raffle - tickets available from Baglady ;D I'll have them with me at our Last Sunday event, and we still need peeps to take some to sell to family & friends. Conny has also posted pics recently of a fabulous cottage holiday - somewhere oop north Friends will be attending Pembrey Dogs Day Out in September this year, and to all intents and paw-poises, this is a dog friendly camping experience not to be missed Keep an eye on our events section for more details ;D

Morning, Last June we went to Broad haven - www.coastalcottages.co.uk/holiday-cottages-uk.asp?cottageref=32842 Stunning house - dreaming of winning the lottery so I can buy it! Beach was close enough that I could walk Alf off the lead at like 6am with a thermos mug of tea! Alf learnt to swim at the beach on the walk around bosherston lilly ponds. Not quite as prepared as your place but lovely and highly recommended!! Would go back tomorrow if I could! All the pubs and cafes allow dogs which I loved (once I got over the worry of taking Alf in somewhere for the first time!) anyway winning question is lottery numbers,,,,, Happy holidaying! x

Yes, we went to a cottage in the Lune Valley (between Peak District and the South Lakes). The owner has quite a few cottages and we were in this one called The Deer House; www.lune-valley.co.uk/deer-house-cottage-cumbria.phpIt was like being in your own woodlands. Kara loved it.

www.cottagegower.com/index.htmloooh Suzie that place looks lovely!! About taking dogs into pubs etc... The Lake District is fab for that. Dogs welcome almost everywhere. We even saw normal shops (clothes shops etc) with signs "dogs welcome". We went into an outdoor activity type shop to buy some things and Kara was like "wow I'm inna shop!!!!" ;D

The shop we went into had a massive ornamental sheep in it... Well Kara's face... It's like she was saying "they gets everywhere!!!!!" I think it was www.edgeoftheworld.co.uk we took her into. And we bought her a lovely "Life is Good" dog bowl there. www.rei.com/skuimage/821510/220But the sheep totally spun her out.
