Hey, so I'm really interested in volunteering at cardiff dogs home, just like walking the dogs or something. This is something I really enjoy and I love dogs so much so I won't to help But how old do you have to be to be able to take the dogs for a walk?

I think you have to be 16 but best to call the home and check with the staff. They may be able to make some alternative suggestions if you are too young??? You might be able to do other volunteer work with friends even if you can't take the dogs out for walks on your own or if you have an adult with you it might be possible to walk some of the dogs?? So give them a call good luck

Hi there! Its great you want to help out I think you need to be 16 to walk the dogs on your own but if you are younger you could walk them with a responsible adult. You need to go to the home with ID and read and sign a form to become a dog walker. There are no time restrictions in the week but there are on weekends to make sure the dogs have walks AND get seen by people who might want to adopt them If you are interested in helping out in other ways have a look around the forum, we always need people to help out in lots of ways and the easiest is to follow us on facebook and twitter and spread the word Hope you get to walk one of the dogs soon!
