Hi, just wondering if anyone out there has any experience or wisdom they could share. Our gorgeous boy Morgan is currently in dog hospital being treated for aspiration pneumonia and they believe this is as a result of megaesophagus (having a barium swallow today to confirm / rule out) if this is the case then the next test would be for myasthenia gravis as the cause. So....does anyone have any experience with the management of any of these things? Any advice much appreciated folks xx

Thank you darl! He's still a poorly boy but we have been able to bring him home and are getting to grips with holding him upright for feeding and fifteen minutes afterwards. At the moment he's spending most of his time sleeping but we'll get there xx

So glad you've got him home - bet he's so pleased to be there. You must be exhausted though, emotionally and physically Hope he gets better day by day

Morgan is getting used to being held upright after he eats anything now although understandably he's not crazy about it! We had blood test results back today and megesophagus is definitely caused by myasthenia gravis but at least this mean we know what we're dealing with. On the bright he has got over the pneumonia and is back to his usual self xx

aw Ellie, horrid time for you hon, so glad to hear he's feeling better A friend (well, acquaintance) of mine has just been diagnosed with this (she has two legs, not four). Lots of 'get-well-soon-and-don't-be-a-worribobs-to-your-mum' thoughts Morgan S x

So glad Morgan has recovered from the pneumonia. I hope you've been able to get decent information on his underlying condition so that you can manage it. What a worry, but I'm sure things won't be so bad now you know what you're dealing with.
