Hello friends of Cardiff's Dog Home!
Thank you for granting me access to your forum. I'm a documentary photographer based in Cardiff and my latest piece of work is about the CDH.
I'll be photographing CDH over the course of the next month, so you may see me around - feel free to introduce yourself. I think it's a great thing that you're turning your love for dogs into positive action. I must admit to being surprised and saddened about how many animals need to go through the home, but equally pleasantly surprised to see how quickly they can be re-homed.
For my work I'm trying to create as broad a project as possible in the time frame, and one element to it is the rehousing of animals. My hope is that one or more of you would allow me to do a quick shoot at your home or wherever you feel comfortable - perhaps out on a walk, with a dog that you have adopted from CDH.
I want my audience to see the full transition, as I will be going out with the warden, shooting the process at CDH, and would like an end product of a successfully rehoused dog.
If you think you could help me out, or know someone who could, you can contact me by replying to this thread, emailing me at info@tomashmore.net, or directly through my website at tomashmore.net
I appreciate that none of you know me, so it's a strange request, but it's how these things work in my industry! You can find out more about me through my website, and I have also met with Maria of CDH who has authorised my presence, so feel free to speak with her about me.
This will hopefully be another way for the CDH to increase public knowledge about its existence in the hope that people will avoid dubious and dangerous methods of obtaining pets. The work will be published on my website and blog, and my search engine ranking is pretty good for Cardiff so I'm hoping that it will receive further coverage via other news organisations. I may extend the project into puppy factories depending on how things go.
Anyway, I know this may seem a bit full-on, but if you see a guy with a big camera taking pictures over the next month, it's likely to be me. I'm a sucker for a friendly convo and love to hear your stories so make sure you say hello, regardless of whether you can help me out with this particular request!
Keep up the great work you are doing. It's people like you that make me proud to live in this city.
Best Wishes
