. . . . . . . . Calling all Friends! Calling all Friends!A few 'need to know' things about tomorrow's Halloween Ball ;D This Event is being organised by Friends of Victoria Park in Barry, who have helped and supported us massively throughout this year They have asked us for help in manning the Corridor of Horror and Human Fright Machine, as we as any general help we can give, as there is a lot to organise. Dogs Fancy Dress Of course dogs are welcome at the Park! And we'd love to see them in costume too! There are no prizes or classes for dogs at the show, but we do have a little competition running here on the forum, so take your own cameras and be sure to put your pics up here! Halloween Dog Fancy DressBut please remember this is a Family event (not a dog event), and all normal 'responsible pet ownership' rules apply. No dogs off lead, all poop must be scooped, and dogs won't be allowed in the Corridor of Horror or in the food areas. Not everyone loves dogs (I know, I don't get it either) so please just have an awareness, as there will be a lot of young children around. Soooooo, bring your family and friends for the Spooky Kids Monster's Disco, and here's a taster of some of the other things planned for the Halloween Party....... COMPETITIONS - Best Fancy Dressed - Judged at the Monsters Ball Best Girl - U16 Best Boy - U16 Best Adult Best Carved Pumpkin - Judged in the Activity Tent PRIZES = 1st £20, 2nd £10, 3rd £5 in each class. ACTIVITIES - win prizes, sweets and toys. The Human Fright Machine Pin the Nose on the Witch Bounce the Eyeball in the Jar Find the Hidden Secret Door Key Splat the Rancid Rat Finally - Friends needs your help!!!!!! We have promised the organisers that we will man some of the stalls - and for that we need vols without dogs to come along to help We'll be setting up from lunch time/early afternoon, and really need people to be available from 3 ish, in costume please, and ready to scare the life of the visitors ;D It's not going to be a long day, we should be packing up at about 6.30, but we really do need some helping hands if anyone is available? Also, if you can't come but can bake, The Witches Kitchen will be very grateful for cakey donations! These can be delivered to CDH tomorrow morning. Thanks everyone, Susie x

So it rained but so what It didn't dampen the spirits at the spooky Victoria Park. The children were out in their dozens all fancy dressed they gave our soft toy tombola a right bashing. . The Friends of Victoria Park put on a really good show tonight having made quick changes to combat the weather they had us all under cover. ''Friends of VP'' are a great bunch of people and I think it is a privilege that FCDH were asked to be part of the event.

Was a great night - really busy (busier than I expected given the rain!) and the people there are allways so friendly. Too busy to take photos unfortunately, but really pleased we got there in the end. All in all I think the night was a great success!

I've just got to say, they certainly know how to PAR-TEE in Barry Massive thanks to everyone who turned out to help The Ghoulish Gang at Victoria Park have been brilliantly supportive of Friends through our first year, and it was great to have such a good turn out of vols to help make the day a success! Setting up for the Spooky goings-on in the Corridor of Horror and the Monsters Ball ;D In The Witches Kitchen, getting ready for the crowds.... Nom Nom Cakies! The now famous Choccy Rocky Horror Cakes! Lots of themed goodies - nice spiders! And Blood Soup bubbling up in the Cauldron! The Monsters Ball Tent - ready for action, bubble machine and smoke machine all ready to go! Bern, putting the final touches to the Teddy Tombola of Terror! Thanks Rach for putting a theme on this one, it went down a storm!!!!! Nic's rather ghastly stall - Throw the Eyeball into the Jar - was a favourite with the kidlets. Socket to 'em eh Nic? The Dungeon Door - and yes, it can be done! I saw the magic key opening the creaky door at least once! Splat the Rat - kids loved it! And the grown ups, it looks sooooooo easy! The Victoria Park guys did an amazing job at transforming the Park, decs all up, by half past 3, we were ready for action! As they lights went down and the boogie got up, my little camera couldn't cope, but I know new Friend Rach brought her proper camera, so hopefully more pics to come of the Spooky goings-on in the Corridor of Horror and the Monsters Ball ;D Thank you so much to Victoria Park for inviting us along, and well done Friends vols for doing us proud, Bern, Sandra, Caz, Nico, Shelley, Lisa, Beth & Jac, it was fun though wasn't it ;D
