Oh guys If we could bottle what's been happening at our Last Sunday's we could take on the world! Last month didn't get a write up (er sorry, my bad ) but here's a snapshot from September... Faithful Friends ;D Massive thanks to our 'regulars' who turn out every month, and who are armed with donations, or ready with the 'sorting boxes', welcoming and chatting to our 'newbies', the lovely peeps who squirrel and collect and are the backbone of our Last Sundays Donations Every month we put out 'special' appeals, and every month we are absolutely astounded by the reponse. As well our regular donations of Car Booty Looty, Bric a Brac, Cash for Clothes, Too-Nice-to-Booty Clothing, Plants, Raffle prizes, Donations for the Dogs (food, toys & treats), we have been bowled over by those of you who simply turn up with a 'special' gift Special September Thanks to George & Molly (who could forget the fabulous George)! for their kind donation towards Munch's Vet fees, and to Karen for her cash donations towards the Kennel Fund Bringers, Buyers, Gifters, Sorters, and everyone who remembers why we do itThank you so much to everyone who has helped make Friends Last Sundays such a fabulous success. To everyone who brings, buys, sorts, transports, and helps with the packing up at the end of the day! Not forgetting Becky & Emma, CDH weekend staff, who have the patience of saints, are so helpful & accommodating, and without whose help these events simply couldn't happen. One of the nicest things about our Last Sundays is seeing the dogs go out for their walkies, chatting to people who have come to rehome a dog, and seeing some of our ex-residents pop in for a visit. Lest we ever forget why we're doing this, it's all for the dogs. Ahhhh, that was September's Last Sunday! You would have thought it couldn't be topped ;D

But boy oh boy - if September was 'one to remember', October's Last Sunday was a veritable fest of generosity, good spirit, and 'who-cares-about-the weather-we're-coming-anywayness' that totally took us by surprise Lovely Lynne & Co were all set up and ready to go nice and early, but the rain was threatening, so we set up shop in the big pen. We thought we were ready..... At eleven o'clock, you started to bring your lovely donations....... and they just kept coming, and coming, and coming....... We were stunned at the quantity, quality and thoughtfulness of the donations for the dogs, for raffles, for Caz's Couture, our Cur-rency Exchange, Echo Tokens, as well as cash for clothes, winnin' linen, car booty, if it was on our 'wish list' you brought it, by the car load! And this is how the big pen looked half way through the afternoon As the pen filled up, some lovely gifts were immediately 'rehomed' (the buying was embraced as generously as the bringing), we did some emergency runs to the Cash for Clothes shop, (3 cars full) bringing in an amazing £72.00 - and we still had a pen full of donations which will keep our coffers filling up over the coming weeks and months. It was lovely to see so many of our dogs out for the walkies again today, Junior was one of the first out of his kennel this morning! ... and we had some surprise visitors who popped along to say 'Woof'! C'mon then, who could forget this little poppet? One thing that was confirmed today, as if we didn't know, is that the generosity of everyone who supports the dogs at CDH is overwhelming! I think it's fair to say that no-one could have imagined a year ago how much goodwill and affection there is for our dogs. As Friends are coming up to the 1st anniversary of the signing of our Constitution, we have a mighty task ahead of us in channelling our energies, and managing our growth! Exciting times ahead Massive thanks to those of you who turned out today and who helped way above and beyond, and to those who gave so very, very generously, and especially to those who did both You know who you are Susie xxx
