Friends are holding a Street Collection in Cardiff on Sunday, 29th July ;D Further details will be posted nearer the event, but if you're likely to be free, put it in your calendar now ;D If we can arrange transport, it might be a nice idea to bring some of the doglets out from the Home for an hour or so Tee shirts only innit

Well, I rarely go into Cardiff, so I don't really know the busy bits. If we have enough peeps 'n' dawgs we could split up ;D Previously we've been around the St Johns Square area, but I'm wondering whether Queen Street might be a better bet?
Open to ideas ;D

Open to ideas ;D St John Sq has been found to be a decent spot because it has space for the dogs and our sneaky board. At the last street collection I walked down Queen St holding a placard and a shaker pot , then around High St and got the grand total of £1 from 1 person. St John also has the seating where tired legs can be rested and jammy do-nuts eaten.

Greyhound type rescue seem to always do their street collection the botton end of Queen Street by the Capitol Centre. Many Tears have been seen doing there's on Queen Street by Superdrug and Principality and St John's Square seems another good location. Not that we've ever done a Cardiff street collection.

Bern, what time are we setting up? This clashes with our Last Sunday, which we really don't want to cancel but Rach has suggested starting and finishing that earlier, which should work I'll be bringing a dog from CDH over at about 1ish, if we have a safe pair of hands in Cardiff, I'll bring two, or even three! So, who's coming? ;D

So, who's coming? ;D The Permit is from 11am to 4pm and covers City Centre. I would suggest we have our sneaky board and small table for the rehoming book at our usual place just opposite the Owain Glyndwr. If we have any dogs there is space for them there. If there are enough volunteers and they feel like going walkabout to other locations all for the good. Starting ''Last Sunday'' early would be good as Caz DD as things to bring. Then Caz DD and I can set up in town then anyone available for the street collection can join us there. These collections can be very lucrative so lets all pray for a good day the last one was washed and blown out. Come and join in and I promise i will get sausage rolls and dough-nuts from Greggs ;D ;D

I know the Street collection clashes with the'' Last Sunday'' event but we decided to go for this as there could be a fair few people in town as the Olympic Fotball will have started. The council gave us a couple of extra permits ( one got washed and blown out ) so lets see if we can get a few £'s in the buckets. So when you have done at CDH on Sunday morning pop into town and join us, base will be at St John's opp Owain Glyndwr. If your own dog is crowd bomb proof bring him/her along, it is the dogs that draw the attention. We need your support to make the most of this opportunity. I hope to see you on Sunday between 11ish to 4pm. Thanks

I love the St John's Street Collection. I might wander down to The Hayes this time as it's nice and open there and you catch people before they shoot into the St David's Centre.
Definitely only the most bombproof dogs for Queen Street as there's hardly room to move. I'm not going there as I'm definitely not one of the most bombproof of humans when it comes to crowds.
However, I'm definitely up for a doughnut!

Can anybody else come down - even it's just for a few hours in the morning until the Last Sunday peeps can arrive.
The weather forecast is good, the Olympic football has started, there'll be crowds of people, it'll be fun - good chance to laugh and chat with loads of people and it'll all help the Dogs and the Home - AND THERE IS DONUTS ;D

Bumping this up. What I have found in the past is that if there are a few of us there we get more attention than just two or three people standing there. If there are dogs we get loads of interest. So if you are not doing ''Last Sunday '' come along about 11.30 and join in.
Can I collect an upto date rehoming book from someone please. I'll pick up buckets and shakers from store on Saturday

Bern - I'm going to race down after the Last Sunday, and CDH are happy for us to bring a few doglets as long as we promise to take good care of them If anyone is going to join Bern at half eleven and can safely transport a dog, please let me know asap. I'll be coming over straight after the Last Sunday, and will be bringing two dogs with me as long as I know we have safe pairs of hands to look after them. Town should be packed, this is a really good opportunity to raise awareness, raise funds, and by golly, if we don't rehome Ella I'll be shocked! Yep, this lovely girl will be coming out to play (unless she gets rehomed on Saturday)!
