I am THINKING about this. I am no good at running at all and would probably need oxygen after 1K but I am considering it. Would anyone else be going really slowly?? (in other words...walking fast? ). Nothing has ever made me run before...but this great cause may just get me off my bottom!

I've talked myself into this........ My sister will also be joining us so two more for your list Kate. My current level of fitness is zero- no joke. Don't think I could run around the block without getting a stitch or gasping for air. Positive mental attitude............. we can do it!!!!!!

I am thinking about doing this too ...! I've done a couple of 10k runs in the past... But that is VERY much in the past! It's a shame we can't run with some of the dogs from the home - that'd turn a few heads!

Hi runners! I can't do the run on the 20th I'm afraid as I'm working that weekend. I used to do the Park Run most weeks though but haven't done any running since January. If anyone wants a running buddy or if you're arranging a group running session it would be great if I could join you? When I say I used to be a regular Park Runner I mean I was usually in last and my time averaged about 38 mins. It was a mixture of 'running' and walking so slow running buddies would suit me! ;D BTW, I've already paid up some sponsor money. Good Luck everyone!! A xx

Well, this is shaping up nicely!!! so far signed up we have.... em (elf) and her sister me (kate/marshallmav) Dollygirl carol (and poss her daughter) lisa possibly jo possibly claire via FB and crafty section we've already got some excellent donations coming in!!!! Thank you!!!! last night at a fundraising meeting we were discussing this event and it was democratically decided that all the money rasied from this would go towards the Sensory garden at the dogs home!!!!!!! the dogs desperately need mental stimulation and the sensory garden would help provide this, and hopefully its a project that will get off the ground within months! i'm aware that this was decided without some of the people who are actually running the race being present. If anyone has any queries/issues with this, then we can all chat about it again, it was brought up as a fab idea and could even inspire more donators.......... what do we think? ?? im up for a getogether to do a practice run a bit closer to the date also......might scare me, but hey ho! also, we can generate more sponsorship money if we advertise this everywhere-easily link our paypal facility and as baglady mentioned, just explain its for the funrun and our fab treasurer will know how to sort the money! make sense? hope so

Putting it towards the sensory garden is an excellent idea I think! I can't wait to get started on some digging! Also I think it encourages people to donate when the funds go towards something more tangible!

Hello Do you know how busy it would be at the race? Would it be worth us walking around/running it with collection boxes? At the Race for life they have stalls around the park, would there be anything of this sort around for this event we could have a stall at? Anyone done this before? Or could enquire? Claire x
