Yep - it's corny corner ;D
How else do we announce a week of outrageous good fortune (go on, get your school books out, where does this come from eh?)
The fabulous peeps at Rileys here are having a week of shannanigans, and are donating 50% of all proceeds to Friends
This is a synopsis of what they have planned....
The specifics of exactly what we're doing are still being sorted however the following is a rough idea:-
We will be running a series of events in Rileys Wellington street from Monday - Sunday w/c 19th March
*Disco Speed pool
*Pool/Snooker & darts comps
*Blindfolded darts (Harder than you think)
We would love to hold a sponsored 12 or 24 hour Darts-a-thon, we are hoping to do it on the Friday/Saturday or Sunday.
We will be holding a raffle throughout the week to win Darts/Pool prizes
At City Road on the 24th March we are running a poolathon & challenge day with the Welsh International Pool teams where they will be sponsored on their...ahem...endurance lol and teams or individuals will come down and challenge them. There will be team speed pool, 14-1 (pot the most balls), raffles etc all to help raise money.
Friends will receive 50% of everything that is raised, the other 50% at Wellington Street is going to Sport Relief and at City Road is going to the International Teams fund.
Hope that's ok and more to the point we can raise lots of money but every little helps!
More details to follow as the fun unfolds, but meantime....
Brush off your darts, polish your P's & Cue's, or just limber up your drinking arm
Mahoosive to Claire and her teams at Riley's (City Road and Wellfield Road) - and guys, if this isn't an excuse for at least one blast of a night out for Friends, I don't know what is ;D If you know the sharp end from the blunt end, or even if you don't, please say you'll come ;D
Blindfold darts? I'm in ;D
And if anyone has anything extra special we could add to the raffle table, please let me know.
Happiness is..........
