Wilkinsons’ Cardiff store on Colchester Avenue, Roath (CF23 9AN), is undergoing a re-brand of it's Pet Range and this will be unveiled at a special opening ceremony on Thursday 1st December.
As part of Wilkinsons’ commitment to the local community, the store manager would like to present Cardiff Dogs Home with a product donation at 8.30am.
and then help to cut the ribbon at 9:00am – the event will be over by 9:15am.
They have also invited Friends to have a Meet'n'Greet on the day so we would like lots of helpers please as it will be a very busy day - obviously start at 9am - finishing times to follow
If you can spare a few hours to join in the fun - we'd be really pleased to see you - and you get a chance to look at the new Dog Range ;D

I used to work at wilkinsons on the night shift and still know a lot of them there, I'll email them a copy of the dog show/fayre poster and see if they'll put it up in the canteen too. They are a great bunch

Update ;D I've spoken with Wilkinsons PR Company, and we have firmed up on the schedule of events for 1 December. They would like two Friends to arrive at 9.15 prompt. Outside the store they are very kindly setting up a table for us, so we should be able to set up our literature and collection buckets as quietly as mice, and not get in the way of the press or distract people from the speeches etc which will be going on inside the store. Rachel has asked for names, so Bern, I hope this is OK  I've told them it will be me and thee, plus 3 dogs. The press party will be leaving at 9.30, so if anyone else is able to come on the day, we'll be Meeting & Greeting from 9.30. We'll need to bring a donation kennel - Bern, can we talk about the logistics of this The are quite hoooooge. If we know we have spare pairs of hands throughout the day, we can maybe think about bringing a few more of our dogs out, but we will need to know numbers, so if anyone thinks they can come for an hour or so, please pm me ;D This should be a really nice event! It's a new venue for us, and if we're very good, they might even invite us back  Lucy, I've pm'd you ;D Thanks for your help with this! S x |

Yes Susie I am ok for the early start but have to zap of for a little while to the dentist ( appointment at high noon ) but can come back, so we definatly need more help to cover.
will arrange with you to see the kennel, but think with all seats folded and Abby's crate out it should go in.

I would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff and customers for there welcome, gutsy loved all the fuss and cuddles, and I must say I loved the coffee and bacon sandwich:-D it was lovely to meet people with such great hearts xxx

Aw, we had a luffly day, we did  More Pictures! ;D Maria & Sarah, at the Presentation Ceremony...  and kicking off our Meet & Greet...  Maria - "now be good girls and boys, and have a nice day - see you later...."  Friends Meet & Greeters, Aby, Bailey, Bas & Gutsy, who kindly brought Bern & Lynne along for the morning....  Abby aka 'Snow-White-butter-wouldn't-melt-in-her-mouth' getting into the spirit Aw, she's a right schmoozer is Abs    The lovely staff at Wilkinsons made sure we had 'supplies'   Gutsy "I wonder if mum is going to share......."  Lynne's answer.....  Only joking ;D there was plenty to go around.....  Bas, caught on camera by the lovely Rachel from Tangerine PR, doing his 'I'm-a-One-Trick-Pony-Give-Mum-a-Kiss!  And at the end of the morning (we finished up at 1.30), checking out the lovely donations from the very generous Wilkinsons' Customers....  Lovely pressies for our Dogs at CDH...  Oh! nearly forgot - people were putting some very generous cash donations into the collection pots whilst we weren't looking - £125.04  Many thanks to Wilkinsons Managers, staff and lovely customers, and yes we were good - and yes we can go back ;D Keep an eye on the Friends diary, and join us next time  |
