The fabulous people at Sainsbury's, Queen Street, Cardiff, have very kindly invited Friends to take part in their 12 Days of Christmas[/size] Celebrations on Thursday, 22nd December Friends will be holding a Meet & Greet from as-early-as-we-like (the store opens at 8 am) until we-need-to-go-and-warm-our-little-toeses (store closes at 10pm) ;D We'll be taking some of our lovely doglets, and spreading a bit of Christmas Cheer as we go. This is a very good opportunity for Friends to raise awareness about the plight of the lovely dogs who will be spending their Christmas Day in kennels, not by a fireside, and we would be really grateful if you could post here if you can come for a few hours. No-one is expected to stay for the duration, but if you have a late start on that day, put yourselves down for an hour in the morning. If you work nearby, why not come to Sainsburys Cafe for your lunch, and have an hour with us. Free in the afternoon? after work? Put your names down, and between us this could be a lovely last-Meet & Greet-before-Christmas, combined with a nice little bitta Chrimbo shopping ;D Yey - I'm excited Thank you Sainsbury's

I can come for as long as needed or until my legs wear out, whichever happens sooner.

ooooh, I think this one's going to be a cracker ;D Thanks Bern and Kath. Lynne - no Gutsy ? That'll be like Sausage without the Mash! or Christmas Pudding without Brandy Sauce (and that would just be wrong) I don't think we'll be able to get the Home dogs out unless we can arrange a few transport runs through the day (it might be a bit shivvery to keep them out too long). But ditto our own dogs naturally. I'll bring Bas in the morning, maybe swootch him home at lunchtime, and if we're still going late afternoon, bring him back out. We don't need to decide start /end times yet, much nicer for everyone if we had lots of peeples out for two hours than two peeples out for lots of hours

oooh, that'll be fabulous Marina One thing I'm not sure of.... the store have said we can start as early as we like (I think they open at 8 o'clock)? Marina, you could probably help us with this, is there a considerable amount of 'breakfast traffic' around the store between 8am and 10am? It's going to be a long day, but I don't want us to miss a trick by missing out on a mini-rush-hour if there is one. Or if we're not missing much, we could give ourselves a later start, say 11.00ish? What d'you think? Does anyone else who works in that area of Cardiff have any thoughts?

Hi there Yes quite a lot of traffic at that time 8-10am as workers getting off at Queen Street Station and popping into Sainsburys for their breakfast and lunch.... I think a lot of workers get their lunch early in the morning if they can ::)as it's very busy in there from 12-2pm

This is getting very close now, anymore takers for a rewarding few hours out. If just one person that we talk to goes to the Home and selects a dog for a forever sofa, will make our few hours well worth while. Getting the Home's name out there is a priority as much as money in the bucket. At these M&G's you get to meet some lovely people and hear both happy and sad stories and they all relate to the love of dogs. Please Join us.
