Poor Atlanta has had a pretty rough couple of months! She was found at a ‘wood tip’ hiding under tons of wood, trees and rubble - nursing 6 pups!!! She had been under there in all winds and weather taking care of her babies and she did a fantastic job - all pups are healthy and some have even found loving new homes. Atlanta is not a huge fan of other dogs, we think this is because while nursing her pups, she also had to protect them from other dogs/animals so every time she sees another dog, she goes into ‘protective mother mode’, having said that she is still brilliant with her pups (even though they haven’t been together for many weeks) It is time for Atlanta to stop being a protective mother and to start being protected herself! – Atlanta needs a quiet home where she is an only pet and with no children. Jojo is now pretty much settled in our home. She is recovering well from being spayed and should be back out on long walks soon. She met one of her beautiful )pups (by accident!) in Llandaff Fields the other day and seemed to enjoy the encounter. She loves a comfy sofa (or bed) and is brilliant to walk on the lead. She is a calm and affectionate girl who enjoys being brushed and eating! She doesn't like any dog treats but is far from fussy about food in general. I'm happy we brought her home and am enjoying her company and (mostly) serene disposition.

Fab news - I never walked her but she looks lovely! Very very pleased!!!
(nuggie - I know poor Chuckles, she will find a home soon, she is a lovely girl! Last time I walked her Susie tried to take a photo of her for the Forum but instead of staying still she threw Susie's camera across the car park (which is why I don't take my camera on my walks - large excited dog and trying to take a photo whilst you are on the other end of the lead = chaos!)

Just an update on Jojo. Two and a half months on and she's well settled into the family.A houseful of people (including small children) didn't phase her on Christmas Eve -she just sat among them holding court. She is a graceful and gentle soul in the house but does not extend her sweet nature towards squirrels and she can be found dashing between trees at the back of Pontcanna Fields on a regular basis in pursuit of her furry foes. Jojo enjoys nothing more than a stroll and sprint followed by a good kip on her comfy sofa and a cwtch. She's far better with other dogs now and enjoys their company. We're very glad we chose her. She is a beautiful lurcher girl. I would thoroughly recommend choosing an adult dog even one with such a difficult past as Jojo.

So pleased you've posted, I've been wondering how Jojo was getting on - great to hear that she's settled down so quickly.
Know what you mean about squirrels though, sounds just like my Izz. She's not interested in catching them, just chasing ;D
