I came across Cardiff Dogs Home, Friends and this forum whilst doing some research. I lost my beloved staff Bruce last month to intestinal cancer He was 11yrs and the most placid, friendly staff ever. Although I don't feel ready to get a new four-legged friend yet, I have started looking around for potential places to look when the time is right - hubbie and I were thinking of waiting until June. I've been so impressed with the care the dogs at CDH get and the work of the Friends it will certainly be our first port of call. Next dog will most likely be a staff - I wasn't a fan until I took Bruce in and now I adore them. I've owned collies, GSD and a fox terrier (who was nuts) in the past but I'm firmly a staffie fan now - it's such a shame there are so many of them in shelters Well anyway, will be popping in and out over the net few months and will probably visit the shelter soon. Of course I'll be monitoring the forum

to the Forum! So sorry to hear about Bruce, it's heartbreaking to lose a beloved dog When you are ready to find your next furry friend do pop down to the dogs home and have a look around, but also read any posts on the forum as the dogs are often so different when they are out of their kennels and the walkers will write about them If you want to take a dog out with the potential to adopt just ask the staff and they will advise you about the dog and answer any queries you may have.

Hi there!
So sad to read about your beloved Bruce too. When you are ready you could not find a better place to come and adopt a staffy. It upsets me so many of them end up in kennels they are the most wonderful breed (I adopted my beautiful staffy x Gus from CDH last year).

Welcome to the forum and so sorry for your loss. (((hugs))) Like all the others said we get some adorable staffie boys and girls of all ages, and it's sad how often they have to wait ages for their forever sofas despite having such lovely temperaments. We need more people like you to fly the flag for them.
