Hiya fellow forum-ers! I wondered if you could offer some advice please? My friends little girl has a big phobia of dogs, so much so she doesn't like playing in public places and its starting to affect her life. She literally has panic attacks if one comes too close. She is ten now and they have tried counselling and CBT but it hasn't worked. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help overcome this fear? I thought I would ask on here as there are a lot of experienced dog owners. Thanks! Emma

Heya, I wish I knew the answer to help you because it does sound awful that she is so scared. Do you know if there is a reason for it? Has she met dogs that have been too playful or excitable? I guess the only thing would be to let her see the quietest calmest dog ever from a distance she feels comfortable with and gradually over time decrease the distance. A friend of mines little un, was a bit cautious initially but after a few weeks they were inseparable and she now cuddles in to watch TV and is most upset when I visit her without my dog! I guess its just going to be time,,, i hope someone on here can help you more. All the best and keep in touch. Ps. happy to meet if you think it would help if you are local.
