Hi all,
I would like to do some fundraising for CDH and was thinking along the lines of a cake sale / cake bake? I was wondering if this could be tied up with one of the end of month inductions at CDH? What would people's thoughts be around this? x

Great idea Jen, I'm happy to make some cakes as well. Would this months walkers induction be a good time? (also happens to be the anniversary of my first walk at CDH and a great year it's been). |

I think the next induction day would be perfect! Maybe do some teas and coffees to go with it?? Im happy to be on kettle duty x

I was thinking this month ☺ was going to see if anyone had access to a water urn to do teas & coffee too - might be better than filling the kettle over & over again  ? if we are good to go I'll mock up a poster this weekend ☺ |

Susie, Michele and I are always OK with the induction - we seem to have a military operation between the 3 of us! Be great then for others to be around too as extra Friends faces for the new vols. and to sort out the food and drinks. |

He was old, he was become very unpredictable, and we think he was becoming a little incontinent. We had to let him go, it was the kindest thing to do. Rest easy Urnie  Our honourable treasurer did hint that once we had got over the loss of Urnie, she might consider letting us rehome a new one! Michele Looker - what do you think? |

Ahhhh poor ol Urnie.....still mourning his loss :-( BUT....I think it's time, time we moved on to a shiny new Urnie, we'll never forget Ol Urn as he served us well, so very well!!!
Okay, okay I got totally baffled by the shapes, sizes and functions of urns that I lost the will!?!?!? However.... a new trade catering store has opened in Canton so I shall venture there and meet new Urn in the flesh!!! ;-)
Unless anyone knows of somewhere else??

We did a bit of a BBQ on a last Sunday sometime last year too. That was fab.....we could have a replay maybe??

Looks like we are good to go with the cake sale Shall we say 11:30 till 3:30 on Sunday 26th July? I'll get paper plates,serviete & a table cloth / cover, I've also got plenty of Cake stands we can use ☺ Would it be possible to have access to a table & also a gazebo (just in case of rain) please? I plan on making the following: Coffee & Walnut cake Lemon drizzle loaf Batternburg Butterfly cakes Something chocolatey If we're are doing hot drinks are there takeaway type cups available or shall I pick some up? It'll save on washing up if we have disposable ones. I'll pick up tea,coffee,sugar & milk beforehand. Working on a poster this evening so will share for thoughts / sharing as soon as I can Anything I've missed?X |
