It is with utter devastation that I tell you that we lost Ron this week. We knew that he had heart failure but it seemed it be under control with mountains of medication and fluid drains. However, he suffered a fatal heart attack at home on Monday. As heartbroken and shocked as we all are, on reflection it was one of the best ways got him to go. Obviously his heart couldn't cope anymore and it was so quick from the time he collapsed to when he took his last breath. The four of us were around him, holding him as he slipped away and telling him how much we loved him. As a family we would have struggled to make the decision to have him put to sleep so to go naturally was a blessing for us too. He had a new lease for life in the previous fortnight where he had his stomach drained - he was puppy-like again and having Alfonso as his new little brother since October allowed him to get up to so much mischief! He will be sorely missed and we have taken great comfort from the many messages we have had from people who either knew him from his time at CDH or who have met him in the precious 18 months that we were lucky enough to have him in our lives. Sleep tight Big Ron ?

Sleep tight Big Ron ? Dogs are our guardian angels; so even if their body is no longer with us, they are always present in our lives and continue to love us forever. And we will always love them. Maybe we think to have chosen our dog, but the truth is that actually our dog had chosen us. My most affectionate hug to all of you

Im absolutely heartbroken for you all Ron couldn't have asked for a better home and I cant imagine anyone else could have loved him anywhere near as much as you guys did. He was such a fabulous boy and it was always a pleasure to see him at the shows and Meet and Greets. He will be missed by so many people, but what an amazing life you gave him. Sleep tight big fella, your little bro will take care of your family now xxx

This news has broken so many hearts Grief never ends, but it changes It's a passage, it's not a place to stay Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith it is the price of love. Rest easy Big Ron, so very sadly missed by so many.
