Good things come in small packages so the story goes, and thats certainly true with Diesel This little fella was an absolute delight with us today! He is as friendly as you like, he greeted us like old pals straight away and was on my lap within seconds He wasted no time in letting us know what he likes....scratches please!! "yep, thats it, just on my back please Bec" "around the side a bit" "thats spot on Miss" Diesel was a very good boy around the treats, he was ever so gentle taking the pate from us, we didn't feel any teeth, just his gums! Although he didn't seem to know sit, he did a very cute beg instead! "will dance for treats" This little guy was a bundle of fun! He is an affectionate, gentle and well mannered dwt. I cant wait to hear how he is on his walks! Diesel will be available for rehoming from 1st April, but the staff at the home will take applications on him now. If you have any questions on Diesel or would like more information on him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. We're not sure whether the vets have aged him, but if you ring the staff at the Home - 029 2071 1243 - they will be able to tell you what (if anything) they know about him. xx

Diesel is such a lovable lad spent some time in the kennel with him Sunday and he was all wagging tailed and looking for loads of fuss and didn't want me to leave.

Took little Diesel out this morning. This little guy obviously loves to be out and about. He pulls a bit on his lead and I wonder with all his energy and excitement he might be better off on a harness as he would often choke. Diesel also got excited when another dog walked past and would try to go over and see them but if you just carry on he's fine. Great little boy and I'm sure he will be a great addition to any family. Good luck Diesel.

Had a lovely walk with Diesel (& Susie&Baz) on the weekend..! It was a short but sweet walk with the happiest bundle of JRT. He loved being around Baz, walked really well and busied himself sniffing everything down the lane. It was a lovely walk, nothing much more I can say! If you like your JRT, then you will love him

I had an amazing walk with Diesel on the weekend, he really is a joy to be around! He's confident whilst out and about, walks well on the lead and is interested in saying hello to his fellow canines! He has his nose in everything and he doesn't let a sound go by without his ears pricking up. In summary, he is a cracking terrier! Its no secret these are my kind of dogs, and if you love a terrier, this boy will not disappoint! I really can't understand why he is still at the Home!

We took Diesel for a long walk today, he just seemed so happy to be out and about, sniffed everything along the way and walked great on the lead. He did get excited when passing other dogs but just seemed like he wanted to play. He wasn't too keen on stopping for a break, he just wanted to walk, although he was kind enough to pose for the camera... He will make someone the perfect little pet. Don't think he will be at CDH much longer.

I did the induction today and had the pleasure of taking Diesel out for a walk afterwards. What a superstar! I had been told he might bark at other dogs but he was brilliant - some other dogs barked at him and he looked like he wanted to go and see who these potential new buddies could be, but he was very well behaved in response.
I had my 6 year old with me on the walk and Diesel was calm and gentle with him. Diesel will make someone a fabulous pet! We loved him!

Took this pint sized pocket rocket out this afternoon, he practically sprinted up the lane sniffing everything in sight! He did pull a bit for the first half of our walk which made me think he might walk better on a harness as he was making some rasping noises! He did settle down eventually though. He was fine around traffic, cyclists and other dogs even through he did pull towards them I think he just wanted to say hello! Gorgeous little man!

Had a cracking walk with Diesel this morning - a terrier's terrier! He sniffed everything, ears up, was incredibly responsive to noises & really energetic - he sooo wants to be off the lead and have a good sprint! He really enjoyed me scratching his sides. He hardly barked at all the whole walk but made an amazing range of noises while he was walking - sort of sounded like he was chatting to himself!

Update - Diesel We took this lad home on Saturday, we expected to be chasing the dogs around a couple of days and trying to settle them in, but at our surprise we didn't have to Diesel managed to find his place in the basket we had bought for our terrier (which she never uses) and there he seems to have stayed for the first couple of days. He is slowly coming out of his shell as we are seeing him out of his basket more day by day. Also we expected him to have accidents due to being in kennels for a long time - he just had one on the first night, he comes when called and goes straight out for a pee, he is an absolute star :-) Noticed he doesn't really like treats like my other two, although he takes them he just spits them out. The only thing we are finding that is mental, is that when we are due to go out for walks he gets so excited and barks, that it sets the other two off (although he wasn't as bad yesterday, so hopefully it will improve), which as you can imagine is not a quite place when this happens, as soon as we have crossed our road though they all settle down and walk/run nicely, he went in the lake to wet his feet yesterday which he seem to enjoy and he loves his baths as well, as due to the weather on the weekend and his short legs he did get rather messy, so the bath was a must! Will keep you updated with how he continues to grow.
