Please give a warm welcome to Lassie
Lassie has been signed over to the Home, along with her little besties, Jackhuahuas Rex and Jack, as their owner had to downsize his pack due to housing restrictions.
Lassie is 4 years old, and in fabulous condition! She has lived happily with four other dogs and a few kitties and is as happy as the day is long!
She is verrrrry energetic, and loves nothing more than stretching her legs! Go Lassie!
Lassie is a bit of a stranger to lead walking, and seems to think she is one of Santa's reindeers with a heavy sled to pull when she is on lead! She's going to need a little help learning to 'walk nice'! Ahh well, a girl can't have everything eh Lassie?
Lassie would like to wish everyone a very peaceful and happy Christmas on behalf of all the lost, stray and abandoned dogs in Newport City Dogs Home who will be spending Christmas Day in kennels. All these lovely dogs should be on their own sofa's, but for all sorts of reasons, they are homeless this Christmas. If you are sure you can offer Lassie a home for the rest of her natural days, pop down to meet her.
Lassie says 'A dog is for life, and if you are not 100% sure you can keep this promise to dog, get a goldfish'!
If you want more information about Lassie, or would like to meet her, please contact the staff at Newport City Dogs' Home on 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm or 2pm - 4pm, Monday to Saturday or pop in for a visit!
As she has been signed over, Lassie is available for rehoming now, but Newport City Dogs Home does not rehome dogs immediately before Christmas, so applicants would need to discuss timings with the staff.
Rehoming fees are from £100 - £200 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment, and microchip. It is a condition of the rehoming contract that all dogs are neutered/spayed.
All applicants will be homechecked prior to approval.
