This lovely lady in kennel 5 is Tracy She has been with us for a little while. However, she is now available and ready to find her new home. Very sadly when dogs are at the home for some time they start to become overlooked by potential rehomers, and find it much more difficult to find a new family. So let's get some walkers tales and photos up here and help let people know the Tracy you all know outside her kennel! Tracy is available for rehoming now. If you would like more information, or would like to meet her, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. They are now 4-5 times I have walked the little Tracy. When she arrived at CDH some weeks ago, she was a bit nervous meeting other dogs; now her behaviour looks widely improved, no barks, no growl, just a residual insecurity. Poor girl, her life has not been very easy, I guess. Tracy is a brilliant dog, lovely, affectionate, obedient: no issue with people, children, noises, cars, bikes (...), she just enjoys her walks, some treats, a lot of cuddles and sniffing anything. Good luck little lady

Tracy!!!!!!!! I love this little one 🤗 I've taken her on a fair few walks now and with every walk she just gets better and better bless her 😊 She lovvvessssss treats and I can't fault this little ladies manners. Although, she's not really as keen on other dogs she's a little reactive she's come on leaps and bounds and is a pleasure to walk. After all, not all of us get on with everyone and dogs are the same hehe 🙈🙊 There's not a bad bone in this little lady and she's full of character. Fingers crossed you get the loving home you deserve Tracy baby 💜 There is no doubt you deserve the best life can offer you 😊 Xx

I'm so happy to finally see little Tracy on here! I've walked with her a few times and she's a really sweet lady. She definitely loves a treat and a scratch behind her ear! I hope someone sees her gorgeous photos and falls in love! I think Tracy could be so happy in a loving home, and also make someone very happy in return! Look at that staffie smile!

What fabulous pictures of Tracy.....I love this little lady! I have taken her out quite a few times now and she is full of energy and is certainly focussed on her walk...especially for the first half hour or so and she does enjoy a little jog! She is so gentle taking treats and waits patiently at the road side when waiting for the lights to change, and then she is off on a mission! She is such a lovely dog that needs lots of love and reassurance - she will touch your trousers as if to make sure you are still there with her. Tracy also likes to have a good sniff in certain hedges and a roll in the grass when given the chance! Gorgeous girl, I do hope you will find your forever home, and someone to give you lots of love and cuddles - although I would then miss our walks!

We took the gorgeous little Tracy out on Monday morning for the first time. The weather was awful in the morning and while Tracy wasn't overly thrilled to be out in the rain, she trotted along on her own little mission for the first half of the walk. She greeted us quite eagerly to begin with but seemed to become a little nervous as we were walking, not really of us but more of her surroundings. She would try to place herself so there was something at her side - a fence or trees - and would throw little glances behind us to check who or what was around. I'm not sure if the weather was a factor or if she just wasn't sure of us, but she did settle down a little as we carried on. We only passed near one dog on our walk and she seemed very keen to go and say hello, but moved on happily enough once the other dog headed off. Despite being a little nervous and needing some reassurance, Tracy is such a gentle and sweet little lady! When we stopped for water and treats she was happy enough for a little fuss and cwtch, and took treats ever so gently, offering up a very nice sit and paw in exchange. She also took a tennis ball from us so carefully and softly, but didn't seem keen on carrying it very far and would drop it a few seconds later - though she has excellent manners, because she took the ball from us each time, despite not actually wanting it! Tracy is such a lovely little girl and I'm definitely looking forward to walking her in the future, but fingers crossed she finds herself her forever family sooner rather than later and can start enjoying life outside of the kennels.

Walked this lovely lady today....She is always so focused on the first half hour of her walk and constantly looking around her checking her surroundings. It is so lovely when she settles down and relaxes as she will have a good sniff around .....She loves to look in the bushes for the birds (usually blackbirds)....And has a little obsession about the privit hedge around the Range Rover place. Usually we have to go up and down at least 3 times...But her ears prick up and her tail wag s like mad...So it's worth it even if I get some odd looks lol! Tracy is such a lovely girl who needs reassurance and a lot of love!

Tracy is a real sweetheart and always a pleasure to walk. I spent half an hour in the garden with her today and she had an absolute blast, she runs like the wind and chased every toy I threw for her - it was wonderful to see her so happy! She is also very affectionate and loves a cuddle on the sofa in the summer house. One beautiful girl x

I had the pleasure of taking this gorgeous girl out earlier this week. She really is fantastic. It was all about the walk with Tracy, which she seemed to enjoy - as well as the odd ear scratch from me. She seemed a little insecure - occasionally looking for reassurance and nuzzling my leg, but she relaxed into the walk and was great on the lead especially when crossing roads - waiting patiently when asked. When we got back and she saw the staff she was so excited - showing them lots of affection whilst getting towelled off (we were drenched!). She's definitely ready to find her forever home - and just needs someone to spend time with her and show her lots of love. She really is a sweetheart.

Tracy has been having regular play dates with a visiting dog, and she has been extremely well-behaved with him

I walked this lovely lady again today and as usual she is on a mission for the first part of her walk..Although once she has had a treat or two she will look up at me every now and then as if to say "I'm a good girl so can I have another treat?"....She loves having treats so take plenty with you lol!...Tracy is definitely showing signs of improvement as I noticed today she wasn't walking so close to walls, or the parked cars down the lane like she used to- hopefully a sign that she is becoming less anxious. Also getting better when passing other dogs. She is truly a lovely little girl who needs lots of love and cwtches

Had a wonderful walk with this lovely lady...We went over the path by the boat yard and to the end coming out at the bottom of Leckwith Hill. I then decided for a change to walk up Leckwith Hill. I think Tracy helped me up the steepest parts....She is a strong little girl. We had a sit down on the bench by the church(Tracy too who decided to give me lots of Staffie kisses lol) and she was rewarded with her favourite treats and plenty of water. It was so nice just sitting there with the sun shining(for a change). Tracy then spotted a cat in the bushes...My arm was ever so slightly stretched lol!....Gorgeous girl and a fabulous walk!
