The wonderful thing about Tiggers…………….is that they come in all guises. This little moppet is utterly delightful but not one for those looking for a quiet, cuddly sofa companion!
Little miss no-name is bouncy, bouncy, bouncy and whilst she’s at it, she loves to have a good bark. It was really difficult to get photos of her, as she just didn’t want to keep still.
She had a cuddle with Miss June, but didn’t seem very used to being held. Even though she didn’t object at all, she was very quiet and sinks to the ground when you go to pick her up.
She is sociable with most of the other dogs but it is obvious that she has no concept of her diminutive size, and doesn’t hesitate to announce her presence to much larger ones, so would almost certainly need to be kept on a lead around strange dogs, or she could get herself into danger.
If you like tiny dogs with a lot of character (as I do), this little girl will take some beating. It’s hard to say which breeds went into her make-up, but she is very delicately-built. Possibly Papillon/ Yorkie/Chihuahua.
As she is a stray, we don’t know exactly how old she is, but her teeth are very clean for a tiny, so she’s probably not more than about three years old. Found as a stray, this girl has a coat which needs a lot of attention, even though the worst mats have been cut out, and underneath it all, you can feel every bit of her back-bone.
Little miss no-name will have done her seven days in the pound on 7th January but, sadly for her, she is coming into season so will be kept safe and warm in the main office building until this has passed – about three weeks from now.
A very kind groomer has offered to come and give this lass a thorough pampering session, so please look out for any updates. As I think she will be almost unrecognisable.
She also needs a name and Newport staff would be very pleased to hear any suggestions from yourselves, as they are struggling to find the perfect one.
Please contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME for more information about this girl, or to ask about homing her.
TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm or 2pm - 4pm, or pop in for a visit! No appointment needed.
Rehoming fees are from £100 - £200 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment, and microchip. It is a condition of the rehoming contract that all dogs are neutered/spayed aged six months. Subsidised vouchers are available at £35, this is in addition to the rehoming fee.
All applicants will be home-checked prior to approval.
