Hiya, my name is Dexter. I was handed into the Dogs’ Home today by my owner, who had bought me from the internet. She didn’t want me anymore because I nipped the children, but that’s just the way puppies play, isn’t it? Nobody has ever taught me anything different. The people here say that I am a real character. I don’t want to be a lap-dog, sitting about all day, I have my own opinions and want to be doing things and getting out and about. I would love to go to training classes where my new people learn how to make training fun and show me how they want me to behave. I do like other dogs and said “hello” very nicely to Daisy, but if dogs are unfriendly, I will tell them exactly what I think of their behaviour! Those silly people tied a bandanna round my neck and asked me to pose for photos. Of course, they forgot about my little legs and I kept tripping over it! I would love a home where people understand that little dogs are no different from big ones. I am still very young and need a home where I have lots of interesting things to do, and where the people are willing to help me to become the super, entertaining, fun dog that I would like to be. Are you that person? If you are interested in finding out more about Dexter, please contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME for more information. TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm or 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays. 11am - 1pm or 2pm - 3.30pm Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays. Rehoming fees are from £100 - £200 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment, and microchip. It is a condition of the rehoming contract that all dogs are neutered/spayed aged six months. Subsidised vouchers are available at £35, this is in addition to the rehoming fee.
