Please welcome our adorable staffie babe, Diamond Diamond arrived as a stray, and she does seem rather surprised, but not displeased at her recent change of circumstances! She's a beautiful girl, but it doesn't seem she had enjoyed any creature comforts anytime recently. Her coat is a little dull and verrrrry scritchy! Her ears, which should be velvety-soft, are leathery and fur-less... And it looks like she has had more than her fair share of litters in the past.... But Diamond - things are looking up for you sweetheart! A few weeks of tlc and this gorgeous girlie will be looking and feeling like a million dollars! She couldn't seem to believe her luck when Llew invited her up on to the sofa for cwtches! And when a staffie is this close to a friendly face, there's only one thing to do! Kiss it! We took Diamond into the garden to see if she wanted to kick up her heels... But all she wanted to do was this... She just ran between us, and smothered us in staffie kisses! Diamond will be available for adoption from 9th May, and if you'd like to meet her please contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME for more information. TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays. Rehoming fees are from £100 - £200 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment, and microchip. It is a condition of the rehoming contract that all dogs are neutered and Diamond will be taking a little trip to the vets before she is rehomed. No more babies for you sweetie - it's your time to be someone's baby now!

Had the pleasure of meeting Diamond and being smothered in Staffie kisses earlier in the week. She's clearly not had the easiest of lives to this point but she is so affectionate! So she was top of our list for choice of walkies when we went down to NCDH today. The girls and I decided to do our usual river path walk which we've not done for a few weeks. Diamond was an absolute dream! She walks beautifully on the lead. Once on the path it was nose to floor. She was taking in every scent that she possibly could. After a few 100 metres of stop start she decided that it was time to get her trot on but even then - light as a feather on the lead The foliage along the path has become quite overgrown the last few weeks and unfortunately much of it was at Diamond's head height but with one of the girls leading the way, she pushed on through the "jungle" to explore. Our path means we have an open grid metal bridge to cross and she let me pick her up to carry her across without so much as a wriggle - tail wagging again to be back with 4 on the floor and heading off on our adventure. Whilst out on our walk, Diamond encountered various different traffic including pushbikes and HGV's and she wasn't for a moment phased by it. In fact the cyclists commented on how good she was on the lead and what a little stunner she was! I mean with those amber eyes who could resist?! Diamond - thank you for the pleasure of your company for our hours walk this morning. We thoroughly enjoyed your company!

So today we took the gorgeous Diamond out for a walk & all I can say is WOW! After smothering everyone with staffy kisses, we finally managed to head out for a stroll. Diamond is clearly a playful & loving girl, happy to meet everyone. She walked beautifully on the lead & didn't pull at all. Those beautiful eyes kept lookinh back at everyone just to make sure we were still there. She's every so gentle with kids & with all that love to give, I'm sure she's gonna be snapped up. Diamond really is a diamond of a girl!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting the super happy & smiley Diamond & boy was it a treat! This girl is absolutely gorgeous & does not stop smiling & wagging her tail I took Diamond out for about an hour & she was faultless: Walks perfectly on her lead ✔ Responds well to her name ✔ Approaches humans really well & super polite ✔ Reacts well around other dogs ✔ Diamond showed nothing but a passing glance at the four legged friends we saw out & about 👏👏👏👏 Her biggest plus for me though was how affectionate & loving she is. She is happy to dish out all the kisses & cuddles you can take & loves to be close to you Jen, pucker up I can see you.... Diamond you made my morning, whoever takes you home is a very lucky human.

I took Diamond out for a walk recently, she was as light as a feather on the lead and wagged her tail throughout the hour we were out. Very friendly with other passing dogs, loves a bit of attention and sat at my feet and looked up at me when we were approached by a couple of rowdy loose terriers whose noisy attentions were ushered bluntly away by me. She was impressive on the lead, she followed commands like wait while at road crossings. All in all a very easy dog, with a very loving temperament.
