Oh my word, this little girl is going to steal some hearts Please welcome Luna! She arrived at Newport City Dogs Home as a stray, and although her elderly owners are aware that she had wandered off, they have decided she needs a more suitable home than they can provide for her, and have signed her over to the Home. Luna is not much more than a puppy. She is in season, so she won't be able to leave the Home for a few weeks, but the staff will take applications on her immediately. It will be a condition of rehoming that Luna is brought back for her 'big girl's op' in approximately 3 months time. No unwanted puppies for this little lady! As Luna had only just arrived at the Home and was still settling into her kennel, we didn't want to stress her too much, but we're looking forward to getting to know her over the coming days and weeks. She did give us little pink-tongued kisses as we took her back to her kennel, and although she is understandably a little anxious, she seems a darling little girl! We don't know whether Luna is used to being around other dogs, and as she is in season it's probably not a good time for her to meet potential fur-brothers or sisters, but applicants and children are welcome to visit Luna immediately. Rehoming fees are from £100 - £200 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment, and microchip. As previously stated, it is a condition of the rehoming contract that Luna is brought back for spaying, and the cost of this is also included in the rehoming fee. If you would like to meet Luna, please contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME for more information. TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays.

Hi Jenny, As Newport City Dogs Home is run by the council we don't have copies of the form available. If Mum is hoping to apply to adopt Luna, she'll need to pop down to meet her and the staff there will be able to give her the necessary form and information for an application. The home is open Monday to Saturday, 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm for rehomers. Good luck with your application. Hi. My mum has called regarding Luna and would like an application form. Is there any way to access them on here? Thank You

Hi Gary Welcome to our forum The staff consider each dog and each family on merit, so there are no blanket rules regarding children. If you are on Facebook, have a read through the Guidance Notes on adopting, the process is the same in both centres (Cardiff Dogs Home and Newport City Dogs Home). If you would like to meet Luna give the Home a call beforehand (the number is on Luna's initial post) to check that they are still taking applications for her. If you go armed with your vet reference you will be ahead of the game! If you have never had a pet before, that doesn't mean you can't adopt, but the staff will advise you as to the suitability of dogs which may be considered suitable dogs for first time pet owners, and you would be required to evidence that you have done some research on pet ownership, training classes etc. Here's the link GUIDANCE TO THE ADOPTION PROCESS Good luck - the dog who needs you will find you

Luna has 3 applications so the staff are not taking any more on her. We could have rehomed her 100 times! Such a popular little lady. She won't be leaving for a little while because she is in season, but she does have good home offers, and will definitely be leaving with one of them
