Ooooh, two in Kennel 2 this week! Please say 'hi' to Alberta And Asia These two little munchkins were signed over to Cardiff Dogs Home by a neighbouring local authority pound. We don't know their background, but we're pretty sure they have lived together. They are not exactly inseparable, but they seem to enjoy each other's company for the most part. As they are fully vaccinated, the girls are already on the walkers list. Some of our pilgrims have noticed that Asia is a little more anxious around strange dogs, and when she gets spooked she does seem to take it out on Alberta Both girls have spent time separately with Bas in the garden, and seem pretty chilled when they are not 'en pack', so at the moment the staff are pretty open minded about whether the girls can be rehomed with other dogs. They won't be rehomed together though. Both girls are affectionate and friendly and Asia in particular was quick to show us her tummy for gentle tickles... Bliss! And Alberta has a love affair with the camera - she was just happy to post for pics! Anything you can do Alberta! We did manage to get a nice 'sit' from Asia, but it was probably more luck than judgement! Asia is a little more scatty than Alberta! Alberta is definitely the most focussed of the two girls... As they have been signed over, Asia and Alberta are available for rehoming immediately. The staff will be looking for separate homes for the girls, and if you would like more information, or would like to meet them, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Took the lovely Alberta out Saturday morning. It was her second walk and she didn't feel much like walking but was quite happy to be scooped up and carried! We found a lovely patch of grass where Alberta enjoyed a cuddle and plenty of belly rubs and a good roll around in the grass! This little lady is a really lovely dog and will make a great new best friend for a lucky person/family

I walked these two last weekend and they were very sweet. Very friendly dogs, who liked the attention and strokes. They were quite vocal when coming across other dogs, but I think that may have just been a bad habit they picked up in life, as towards the end of the walk they had got better. Altogether though very lovely girls and very cute!

These two little darlings have left the building Making two families complete, that's what it's all about eh girls? Hi, it's Tilly (acca Alberta), sorry for not getting in touch earlier, life is hectic when you are a Jack Russel! I just wanted to say that I am doing really well and I have settled within a couple of months in my new family. I love my mum (I bonded with her straight away), I follow her everywhere and I am very lucky because I have a basket near her computer where she works... I love my dad (I can't believe I was really scared of him at the beginning) and I can't wait to give his feet a special treatment in the evenings! And I love my little brother, he plays really nicely with me and I share his bed in the night, although I love to stay near the fire in the evenings, it's my duty to sleep with my young owner and look at the pictures of his previous doggy and comfort him... I didn't like playing at the beginning, I was scared of tennis balls! I was really frightened of everything but after a good 3 months of training with my mum (lots of treats) I don't bark so much at other dogs and at people in the streets. I made a few friends in the park and I really enjoy a good chase with them, they just have to be the same size as me and I am fine with them. I have learned lots of tricks, I just love it when it's trick time, so easy to get lots of treats! Wait, did you say treats??? I can do "Bark, sit, paw, speak, howl, twirl". I know exactly what "come" means but hey, I am far too busy running after squirrels in the park and jumping up the trees to listen to my mum. But I do come back... in my own time! The other thing I love doing is catching the mail and shredding the parcels! Do you know, the postman comes everyday to play with me!! Below, it's me looking at the window waiting for the postman to come! My other favorite thing in life is furry toys, I just love them up and down the stairs, tug of war and so on! I have also met my cousin Betty from CDH and we have been on numerous walks together, she is really nice and she always want me to chase her, I like following her around. And I have met my Mama a few times in a local park, she is called Bonnie now and she does look lovely. She wasn't particularly interested in greeting me, she was far too busy looking out for squirrels, it must be in our genes, but I do remember her! Lastly, I love cwtching on the sofa or in my bed(s) somewhere really warm, I am a very cold doggie and my mum has knitted me a few jumpers to keep me cosy, I 've had lots of compliments in the park, I just wear them so well, I am a natural! Bye for now! Love from Tilly xx
