Please give a gentle welcome to Evie
Evie is a sensitive little girl, and it has taken her a little while to get used to the routine of kennel life. She is nine years old, and was signed over to the Home as her elderly owners are coping with some very difficult and challenging life-changing circumstances. Although they miss her badly and she obviously misses them too, Evie got herself into a spot of bother with a neighbour's cat, and her owners realised they simply were not able to give Evie the time and care she needs.
When we first met Evie, she was obviously a little anxious, so we just let her do her own thing in the garden.
Evie is a very dainty little girl, and as lightfooted as a ballerina!
She explored her new temporary home with her very inquisitive little nose....
And eventually she decided that although it wasn't 'home', there was plenty of love to be had and she showed her appreciation with little pink tongued kisses for Miss Chris!
Evie was still a little unsettled, and although there were sausages to be had, she wasn't overly tempted. She tried one, just to be polite, but we think it's going to take Evie a little time to find her mojo, to find some real joy in life again.
Evie has come from a loving home where someone was around most of the time, and whilst she has been quite civil in the most part to her fellow residents we feel Evie would love to have her humans to herself, and not have to share with another dog. Following her recent encounter Evie would definitely not be comfortable sharing with kitties or small furries. An older household would be perfect for Evie.
If you are interested in finding out more about Evie, or would like to meet her, please contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME for more information, or pop in during opening hours.
