Please welcome Mump This shy little fella was brought in by a very kind member of the public who found him wandering around on his own. Although Mump is microchipped his 'chip hasn't been registered, so the staff are unable to trace his owners. Mump's finders were very concerned about such a frightened little dog wandering around on his own. Four year old Oscar (who brought Mump in with his mummy) asked us to make sure Mump was given some food and a nice warm bed, he told us solemnly that if had lost his mummy he would be very sad, and they stayed until the staff had scanned Mump. Oscar was distraught that this little dog didn't even have a name, so we asked him if he would like to name the dog before we put him into his kennel. 'Mump, I want to call him Mump'. So that's how Mump came by his rather unusual name! Mump is still a bit bewildered at his recent change of circumstances, and it was a bit of a challenge persuading him to pose nicely for his pics, as he took every opportunity to hide away from the camera. Mump does respond to very soft voices and gentle hands, but as the days go on it seems less and less likely that his owners will come forward to him. If no-one comes forward to claim him, Mump will be available for rehoming from 3rd February. If you'd like to meet Mump, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Hi Mump left the building yesterday with his delighted new peeps He should be coming back for his 2nd vaccination in a few weeks time, and hopefully we'll get to hear how he's settled into his new home. Thank you so much for going out of your way to do a kind thing for an abandoned dog. Your little boy was so charming and caring, it's wonderful to see our kids learning at such an early age to have compassion, to be the good samaritan. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you both, and Mump sends you licky kisses for saving him
