Millie is a beautiful ABD and is still under assessment. Assessment: When Milly came into the dogs home she was a nervous wreck, it was a fortnight before the staff here could get anywhere near her – now – we can’t get away from her! Milly is such a happy and affectionate lady it is a pleasure to have her with us and nearly every member of staff has a soft spot for her! As much as we love Milly, she needs a loving home to call her own. Milly will need a strong, confident owner who has had experience in owning large breed dogs. Milly will not be re-homed with children as she is so big and bouncy. She will definitley benefit from training classesShe takes her treats as gently as a lamb If you would like more information about Millie, please telephone the Home. I walked Milly Mops for a couple of hours last Sunday and she is a delight to say the least - she needs a firm, kind hand as she is full of energy and a strong lass (my arms ached the next day) but after half an hour or so she walked nicely by my side and behind me (she nearly tripped me up she wanted to be so close).
Whilst she needs training and would probably really benefit from some lead training and obedience classes she is very responsive to a firm but gentle voice - she looked at me whilst I chatted to her (I'm not sure she was too interested in what I had to say but she humoured me by looking at me and getting very excited!!!).
This dog also seems to have a cheeky sense of humour and is very affectionate! She got a lot of comments on what a pritty/gorgeous looking dog she is.
She will make someone a lovely pet.
Please someone give her a chance!!! X x

This beautiful girl has so much *exuberance* ;D Less a case of 'let's go Walkies', more a case of 'Ride 'em Cowboy' Lottie, taming the love 'OK, I'm quiet now, can we go Lots'? and here's a much calmer Millie after her energetic walk... Lovely

I met Milly last weekend after meeting up with the Friends in Cardiff on Saturday. Hubby and I came to the home to look at Pork Chop but both fell in love with the beautiful Milly.
We are picking her up tomorrow morning and I CAN'T WAIT!! Her new bed has arrived and I've rearranged the furniture to make room for it (she's just a bit bigger than our last dog - the wonderful Winston - RIP). It's down next to my chair waiting for her along with the new bowls and a cupboard full of treats.
It has been 2 years since we lost our Staffie and hubby is only now over him enough to start loving another dog. It will be wonderful to have Milly here - the house has been just too quiet.

That is fantastic news - sooo pleased for you and Milly. ;D But you have to post on the forum and let us know how you are all getting on - it's brilliant when we can keep in touch and follow the dogs in their new lives.

Second attempt to post this today [not sure what I'm doing wrong] but, as my Mum used to say, "if at first you don't succeed .........." Picked Milly up yesterday and she is a gem! Totally perfect! All of the things we thought might faze her she took in her stride. For Milly .... getting into the car - no problem .... walking around a pet store - not bad, the rabbit food looked very tasty ....... meeting other dogs and some horses on Caerphilly mountain ... would have liked to play but never mind .... sleeping and eating in a new home ... absolutely fine but who needs a bed when there is a perfectly good sofa............ As for me I am as happy as a pig in ?? Milly is exactly the dog I wanted/needed. She is boisterous, loving and will play all day. She's had me on my back a couple of times trying to cover me in Milly kisses and I love it. She slept all night last night, not a peep out of her. She is brilliant out walking, we even let her off the lead in a empty field and she came back (VERY SPEEDILY) as soon as she was called. There has been only one fly (or should I say reptile) in Milly's ointment so far and it was not really her fault. Our Bearded dragon, Alfie, previously extremely boring and inactive, seemed to feel he is being usurped and turned into a bit of a show-off. He took to dancing up against his glass and Milly was VERY INTERESTED in the show. We had a few things knocked over the first time he started and Milly spotted him so a small battle began. Us versus Milly's curiosity. (How do you discipline a dragon?) Fortunately for Alfie we are VERY STUBBORN and (fingers crossed) seem to be winning. As I am typing this Milly is fast asleep in front of the fire and totally oblivious to Alfie's antics. Anyway, thought I would let everyone know that Milly is doing well. Hopefully we will meet everyone sometime. Martin, Milly and I are up for any walks that are going on. Thanks everyone.
