Emily has to finish her 7 days (24 Jan) before she can be rehomed, but you can still go and visit and reserve. If you'd like more info, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road. Open daily 10.30 - 4pm Ooh, it was getting a bit dark late this afternoon when these were taken. Hopefully, we will get pics of Emily out with walkers soon

Emily and I went for a walk this afternoon. She has a lovely, gentle way about her. She pulled a little leaving the Home but after some time on a short lead and plenty of Heel reminders she settled down, and by the time we reached the Pumping Station she was walking beautifully to heel and didn't pull at all. At the start of the walk she didn't seem to know what 'Sit' meant at all, but she loves treats and we did some practising and by the end of an hour and a half she was very nearly sitting on command - she just needed a little pressure on her back to prompt her. I think she would be very responsive to training because she loves people and treats so much. We met 2 very big and bouncy black labs on the walk and her manners were impeccable. She wagged her tail to show she was friendly and then did some appropriate sniffing. She coped really well with their curiosity and didn't show any sign of aggression or fear. We walked back along the Trail with them. All 3 dogs just walked along together quite happily. She is a very loving and affectionate dog. She obviously wants to form a bond with her special person. She is a quiet dog, very aware of everything going on around her, but didn't bark once all afternoon. What joy she will bring into someone's life.

My daughter and I walked Emily this afternoon, and oh my goodness did she pull at our heart-strings! What an absolutely loving and adorable dog. Pulled a little at the start of the walk but very soon was walking besides us, demonstrating her willingness to please and looking for a bit of re-assurance that she was doing well. Every now and then, she gently jumped up wanting a cuddle and lots of affection. Emily enjoyed a few treats and when we sat on a bench for a short rest she sat with her paws up on our laps, looking at us with her adorable, loving eyes. An absolute pleasure to walk and a massive treat for us. My daughter cried on the way home, she really bonded with Emily though she knows we are unable to have a dog at this time. I hope Emily finds her forever home soon, she would be so loyal and loving

Hey pinkandfluffy This is a message for your lovely little girl..... I hope you're keeping a picture album of all the dogs your and your mum are helping in 2012 I've 'fallen for' more than a few since Friends began, but sadly, I don't have room for another four paws in my home But every dog that you walk, every time you put up a picture, you are both helping a dog find his or her forever home, and how fabulous is that ;D You and your mum are doing a great job, and we're very, very grateful to you both And I *think* the dogs love having you to take them on their walks too Did you see that Mojo went to his new home this week ? He was sooooo grateful that you took him out! Keep up the good work Emily had a lovely time with you today, and when she has found her forever home, there will be another dog, just like her, who needs your help Lots of love, and thank you soooo much for being a very good Friend, Susie & the Dogs xxx

Thank you so much for your response, I have just read it out to Bridie my daughter and I think it has made her feel alot better about leaving Emily at the dogs home. We took Emily out for a long walk again today she is completely adorable and likes her hugs soooo much Could have stayed out all day. Emily will make a terrific family dog who will shower them with love and affection! I hope she finds her forever home very very soon - she's one in a million! I will try and upload some pics to the site, my daughter has made a power point presentation on her laptop which includes pictures all the dogs we have walked. She adds to it every week and writes about each dog from the heart. Hopefully get some up soon.....

Oh I'm soooo happy. She looks like a little young shy version of my girl, and it always makes my heart bleed when I see those that remind me of my own. Au revoir Emily, pretty girl. Hope your new family pop in here with pictures to let us know how you get on.
