Aw, this lovely girl came out for a S'WALK today with the lovely Sophie, and after her *initial excitement* (er, no pics available, she was a wriggly blur for the first 10 minutes), Penny set about showing us how eager to please she really is... Can she sit for a treat? Oh yes! Will she focus on you? Oh yes indeedy! Hopefully Auntie Sophie will be here to tell you more, but some pictures just tell their own story... See her tail - it was a waggy blur for the duration

This is what we discovered about Penny.... She is very excitable and puppy-like, and was as mad as the proverbial when she first came out of kennels She did take a while to calm down, and we soon discovered that she isn't particularly motivated by treats, but she loves a bit of praise lots of fuss and most of all, kisses She seems to have had some basic training, and she will do a lovely sit, and her recall seems to be really good! OK, she was on lead (obviously), but Sophie walked ahead with her, I stayed behind, and everytime I called her she whizzed around and came hurtling back to me. She adores people, ignored traffic, pushbikes, joggers, and was pretty much a dream companion on the SWALK. Penny will take treats so gently it's like a whispered kiss on your fingertips She spent the whole time bobbing and play bowing to every dog she met, and I think she's a very confident little girl. She showed a little bit of dominance in play, and once she had engaged with a dog (her initial introductions were very polite, saying 'hello' to Pepper)..... .... she seemed very keen on finding out whether they would mind very much if she put her paws around their necks Saying 'yo bro' to Butch)... Bless him, Butch didn't bat an eyelid We were very lucky to spend a lot of time with Carol & Bruno, as Bruno took all her playful frollicking in his stride and simply walked away when he had had enough of her. She is a very high energy little girl! Penny would benefit from lead training We did a little bit of work, just for about five minutes, and I'm sure she would get the hang of it really quickly. To be fair to her, we were out in the most exciting place, there were smells to be smelled, and dogs to sniff and play with, and really, far too many distractions for her to be able to focus for too long. So in the end, we just let her enjoy herself She was much calmer on the walk back to the Home, and we stopped for 5 mintues, while Sophie explored Penny's 'intellectual side'. She simply loves engaging with people, and can be 100% focussed and attentive when she is calm and with no distractions around her. She's as bright as a button, and has a very intelligent look about her eyes. I do hope Penny finds her forever home soon. You'll know you've got her but I think she's going to be a very loyal and loving little girl ;D

Penny is such a lovely little dog, just so full of life! As you can see from the photos she has lots of energy and is really friendly. We took her for a good walk which she absolutely loved, to start with she was quite bouncy with all the excitement then was much calmer walking back afterwards. She showed us how well she can sit and pays good attention (she's just adorable!). I think she'd be able to pick up on more training really quickly, and while she enjoyed some of the treats we gave her, she absolutely loved the praise and attention! She showed lots of interest in things around her and was friendly towards people and the other dogs- she really just seemed to want to go off and play with them! Penny is a real darling and I hope she finds a good home soon where she will be loved because she certainly has lots of love to give!

Took Penny out for another walk again today with one of my friends. Penny had a great time, she was calmer today and loved all the attention and a chance to investigate all those interesting smells! She was really sweet and kept taking breaks in her 'trail blazing' on the lead to come back and have some attention Once again she was excellent with other dogs we met and other people. She is really friendly and loved it all- her tail wasn't still for a moment! ;D

These pics of Penny are fab, especially the top one, she looks soooo pretty!! I was lucky enough to walk Penny on the SWALK today, she is a beaut! She has all the liveliness you would expect (and want!) from a pup, but will sit on command and as mentioned above does seem to have good recall. This was tested whilst she was on lead but she responded to her name instantly and made her way to the person who was calling her, good girl Penny!!! She really is a fantastic girl, lively, friendly, fun and a stunner to look at. Why on earth hasnt she been picked for a forever home yet
