Cheyenne is very bewildered, nervous and scared at the mo. The staff are working with her to reassure her but we didn't want to upset her more by making her pose for photos - so they will be coming when she's ready UPDATE - after 8 days Cheyenne is small & skinny and Currently blowing her coat. She's come on a long way and is now quiet, calm & afectionate If you'd like more info, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road. Open daily 10.30 - 4pm

Update The staff are doing a fabulous job in helping Cheyenne to settle. She now sits at the front of her kennel, watching people go by, so she has come a long way from the very timid and anxious little girlie we first saw. She still has a special 'Please do not touch' sign on her kennel, and because they have done such good work bringing her out of herself a little, we didn't want to spook her back into her shell by asking too much of her yesterday, so still no photo's of this beautiful, if a little underweight, girl. I know people are very keen to see her pics, but I also know everyone will understand; Cheyenne is making tiny steps forward every day, in her own time. Good girl Cheyenne, whenever you are ready eh sweetie?

I saw Cheyenne out with another walker today on what I believe was one of her first outings since arrival at the home. It was such a joy to see her come tottering around the corner, tail wagging. She really was like a different dog being out on a walk, sniffing around in the snow. She looked very relaxed and happy, unlike the nervous Cheyenne we know from the past couple of weeks. It's so nice to see her building up her confidence.

Aw, Gavin - that's such good news ;D I believe you're right, it was Cheyenne's first outing with a volunteer walker today The Home staff have been very careful to make sure that Cheyenne was given the time she needed to settle (hence no 'rehoming pics' yet). It seems their patience and understanding has done her the world of good, and she is 'letting go' of her anxieties in their very sensitive care. I didn't see her out today, but am thrilled to hear that she has gained enough confidence and trust to enjoy a bit of snowtime playtime ;D

I took Cheyenne out for a walk today. What a lovely, gentle girl she is. We met a couple of dogs on the way and she was friendly but calm. She seemed to enjoy herself judging by her body language. Reading the messages above, it's amazing how far she's come in such a short time. A wonderful dog.

I had the pleasure of taking this gorgeous girl for a walk today. Needless to say it was love by the time we returned, even though I walked away wearing as much fur as she lol! She was very happy saying a calm hello to other dogs and I even managed to get her to sit by my side as we watched the boats on the river. Yes, I will definately be back so we can get to know one another more and hopefully she will soon be claiming my sofa as her new home.

The staff at the Home have done a fabulous job in letting Cheyenne come out of her shell in her own time, and this has really paid dividends ;D She is underweight though, and they were finding it difficult to find something that stimulated her appetite However Michelle (Home staff) tempted her with Webbox CHUB(not dried) yesterday, and she loved it ETA: Asda have it on special offer - 8 assorted packs for £3.92-Bargain It's not an item that is normally kept on the shelves in the feed room, and Cheyenne would be really grateful for donations of her favourite din-dins! If you are able to help Cheyenne, please drop donations straight to the Home, and put her name on the bag. Woof! Thank you!
