Please welcome the utterly captivating Ffion
We brought Ffion out for a little 'getting to know you' time today. She doesn't seem very familiar with concept of cuddles. In her own time, she did come to stand next to us, but didn't seem to want a stranger petting her, which is fair enough eh Ffion? Good girls don't give it away for nothing!
Neither was she particularly interested in toys. When we first assess pointies, it's always interesting to see whether they have a built in 'chase instinct'. Many do, and sometimes this can be an indication that they have been 'working dogs'. We got the impression that Ffion has never had to work for her living though! She didn't show any inclination to chase, just gave her toy a little sniff to see whether she could eat it!
No, that's not food, meh!!!!!
There's no doubt about it, Ffion DOES like her food!
And she can take it gently..... sometimes eh Ffon?
Ffion hasn't been aged by the vets yet, so we don't know how old she is. But the poor girl seems to be suffering from a fairly common problem in adolescent girls. It has to be said Ffion is definitely a little on the chunky side, and she also has very bad skin.... But that adorable upturned nose - ahhhhhh, she is sooooooo pretty!
Don't worry sweetheart! Nothing that a little medication, exercise, and TLC can't put right!
We did manage to get a 'sit' from Ffion, but only once, so maybe it was more luck than judgement. We're looking forward to earning Ffion's trust over the coming days and weeks, and finding out a lot more about her.
Ffion will be available for rehoming from 6th January, but the staff at the home will take applications now.
If you would like more information on her please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm
