Could be worth a try, Eve. The first time we took her she was absolutely fine by the road and onwards. A little unsure of the traffic, we noticed she tucked in and walked heel perfectly at that point, but it was completely different the second time. She wasn't frantic or aggressive or anything like that, just did not want to leave the estate. Still a very happy and playful lady the entire time. If we take her again, I'll ask for a harness as well and see if there's any difference.

Red is such a beautiful little girl. I've taken her for a few walks and she's always seemed really confident. I do though remember the same thing happening with Cerys. She'd walk for miles but then started refusing point blank to go any further. Luckily she got rehomed not long after and I hear is doing really well. This gorgeous dog really needs a home. Please go and see her ..she won't take up much room on your sofa either x

What do you get if you cross an 84 year old, an 8 year old and Penyfan? Total chaos!!! Thankfully the gorgeous Red was a little sweetheart all day and the least of my worries! We picked her up first thing this morning, took her for her 1s and 2s, then in the car for an hour. We literally didn't hear anything from her (at one point I thought I might have forgotten to put her in the car!!) She was very excitable when we got there, and it was busy and lots of other dogs and people, but apart from a couple of barks she was brilliant the whole time and got on great with everyone. she is beautiful, and had LOADS of compliments up and back. We walked up with the lovely Eve and Chilli, and really enjoyed their company. Back at the car after a couple of hours, Red snuggled in on the back seat for some snogs and treats, she was so affectionate and gentle taking food. Then home to the home.... what this lovely chick really needs is a proper home (no offence CDH!), with a sofa, a fire, and a family to take her out romping - she is a star! Love you Red xxxx

Why is this beautiful and smiley girl still here? We took her out yesterday on a very sunny morning - for once we didn't end up hiding from the rain with poor Red looking miserable. There's not much more I can say about Red that I haven't said already. She's a gorgeous and loving little girl who just adores being around people. She responds well to her name and constantly looks back to make sure her people are still there. At one point she found a stick that she really didn't want to leave behind, despite it being a bit too big for her, but with a little treat as a distraction she was happy enough to leave it for another dog. We did notice she was a little barky around two Lurcher-type dogs we passed, whereas she was curious but otherwise fine around other dogs. I don't think she intended to be aggressive towards them as her tail was wagging, she just has a bit of a gravelly bark. Nothing a little socialising and extra training couldn't help her with though! She's such a gorgeous little lady and the perfect size for cuddles!

We took Red out for the first time yesterday. After reading posts from others on the Forum we asked for a harness and she was no trouble at all. We passed a couple of dogs walking down the lane and Red got a bit excited but soon calmed down and when we got to the grassy area on the trading estate she found a stick and just wanted to play. We crossed Penarth Road and walked down the River Trail where it was quiet and we didn't pass any other dogs for the whole time so Red was happy. We stopped at the bench by the river and Red sniffed out some treats in our bag. She must have enjoyed them as she had a big grin on her face.... She walked great on the harness, no pulling at all and she walked at our pace. Just a generally happy little dog who is full of fun.

We took Red for a walk yesterday morning/afternoon, our last of three for the day. There's not much more I can say about Red that I haven't already. She was wonderful as usual, and very affectionate. She can get a little over excited when you stop for water and cuddles, as she just loves being around people, and there was a little bit of nipping when she got really excited but she was easy enough to stop and with a little attention and training, she'll no doubt calm down. She's a very intelligent and responsive dog.
No pictures this time as I forgot my camera (in my defense, I'd gone to bed at 3am that morning after a wedding so my brain wasn't completely functioning) but I don't need to show you any more photos, you all know she's gorgeous!
On our way back up the lane we came across a couple who were heading into the Home. They must've recognised Red from the website and came over to say hello. They had experience with staffies and were looking for a small staffy girl this time. We had a quick chat and Red had lots of attention! While I was signing Red back in, I heard them ask to see her! Fingers crossed!

Why is Red still at the home??? After today I have no idea...I'll continue. Dale and myself have been parallel walking Red and our Elsie for a couple of weeks, and it's fair to say they get on well. So today was the big challenge Llandaff fields. Firstly Red got into the dog mobile sweet as a nut and secretly I bet she thought she was royalty, and why not. As soon as we got to the fields she was an absolute joy. Right lets get this out of the way Red is a little bit vocal but it's excitement not aggressive,we passed loads of dogs today and she was fab,so please don't let that put you off. "Do you have my cute side Pete?" "You not getting in Red" "Too right I am,I loves the water Elsie" "Sorry can't stop Zoomies time" "Rolling, rolling, rolling down the river" E and R had a fab time and what I did notice today is how loving and affectionate Red is... Someone, some couple, some family are losing out here, she truly is a little bundle of fun. If you love a good walk Red is your girl,if you want to just have a cwtch on the sofa Red is your girl. Please take some time to take her out or spend sometime with her she is truly a little gem. R sorry I've took so long to get to you but I hope someone is lucky enough to have all the love you've got to offer. Love ya xxx

Sounds like you both had a lovely time. Red is gorgeous, and I can vouch, having spent nearly a whole day with her at Penyfan that you are spot on that she's a lovely girl and very affectionate - she is an absolute gem. Come on people, get to know her, she's lush.
