I think Rach said there is already enough for this month, but just to say that my man and his brother have cleared the house out where they used to live and there is all sorts they have handed over to me that I am currently hanging on to. It's a big box of all sorts including cd player, an amp, cds, books, clothing and goodness knows what else... I'm going to make a list of what is what and maybe someone can let me know who I would give it to and when. x

Hiya Thanks for this post and thanks for remembering about the car boot sales. I have got enough stuff for this month's car boot sale now but we are planning to keep going through the year. I need to work out the logistics of storing stuff and getting things to the Sales, as I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by the Booty in my home. I would be grateful for any ideas. One idea is for people to bring their donations on the day and add them to the stall, but we would need to know how many were intending to do that so we don't end up with more than we can cope with. Help! Anyone out there got an idea? Rach

Hi Rach. It must be quite a pickle having everything pile up in your house, so that's no good. Personally I would be very happy to make a list of what I've got, store it here until the day, and bring over what you wish for. Having just had my OH move in with me, we're a bit short of storage space ourselves, otherwise I'd instantly offer, but spare bedroom, shed and loft are all chocker. I guess the pound wouldn't have a dry and accessible room where they store stuff themselves and where we could have a corner?? *ponders* Have also been wondering about other means of selling things... For example if there are a lot of books, could we start an Amazon account in the name of FOCDH and list them there? The process is very easy on Amazon (for those who don't know). You just type in the ISBN on the book, pick the condition of the book from a drop down menu and list it. It is then listed until such time until it sells. Once it sells, Amazon send a notification email, and you post the book to the buyer. Do we have an Ebay FOCDH account where stuff could be listed and sold? Also Ebay allows people for a proportion of their profits to be donated to a nominated charity. Has anyone looked into this yet? Just wondering. I've sold quite a bit of my own stuff that way in the past and would be happy to help running a book account for FOCDH for example, if peeps thought there was demand for it.

They are the red ones shaped like dogs tails and back legs! Happy to keep hold of them till the car boot - just wanted to let you know I have them! Shelley X

oooh doggy bottoms ;D Love 'em ;D Rach - if the car booty is generally the week after 'Last Sunday' we could maybe hold stuff there for a week at a time? It is looking chocca at the mo, but we're hoping to move a lot of stuff at the Spring Show... oooh, that reminds me

I was also going to put mine and my OH's hand up for helping at the March car boot sale!! We're not too bad in the mornings and we own a multitude of hot flasks!!! ;D Sorry we can't help at the February one but it's clashing with work happening on the house and I need to keep the builders in a steady flow of coffee and make sure Kara doesn't chew too many tools.

Hi Everyone Our Boot dates are a bit out of sync with the 'last Sundays' for the next 3 months. After that we could calendar in the car boot sales to be the next weekend after the last Sunday. It would be a great help to use the store. I've been given some good storage boxes so if we store it tidily it will be more manageable, and we will be selective. Thanks for the offer for the March boot sale Karas mum. That would be fab to know you will be there. I'm sure we will settle into a routine with all of this in a bit, and we will soon get to know the stuff to avoid taking and the stuff that flies out. It's all learning at the moment! Cheers all, Rach

On the subject of storage - could we persuade one of the local storage companies (Safestore, Big Yellow etc) to let us use a small unit for our boot sale stock and other goodies. I know several other charities that make use if these but not sure what the 'deal' is..

hi, I'm holding a kidsmarket table top sale for the kennel fund on 3rd march. Any babies/kids/nursery type items you have for the car boot, i'm more than happy to collect them and sell them at the kids market. It might free up space for the boot sale and your storage. cheers, Kate

Hi Steph,
It's this coming Sunday ! We will be there from 7.30 am. It would be best if you can bring the books as early as you can manage, just so we have the longest time to sell them. Don't bring them if it's raining though, they will get spoilt. Look forward to meeting you.
Rach

Just thought I'll 'bump' this to see who's coming. :-) My OH and I should be there for 8 and we'll bring some stuff in our own car as Rachel's is already chocca. I think it'll be a mix of things ranging from framed pictures, a mirror, good condition books, etc. Rachel if there is anything you think you might prefer for some other 'scheme' rather than it being bootie-looty, then let me know. For example we have some clothing - should we bring that or leave it for "cash4clothes"??
