Jake is a hand in who came in this week. He seemed very stressed [understandably] when he first came out, but settled down the longer he was out and by the end was not pulling as much on the lead, and enjoying having a good cwtch. He seems like another lovely boy, was good as gold when meeting other dogs, including a tiny yorkie who ran up to him out of nowhere! He seemed very interested in water too. Jake is as you can see, and whoever gets to offer him a home will be very lucky -

Jake's previous owner has changed and increased his shifts in work, he simply didn't have the time that Jake needed, not nearly enough time for him, and Jake was being left at home alone for unreasonable amounts of time. It sounded just like almost every other 'through no fault of his own.....' story I've met him, and he is as adorable as he looks. As with all 'hand ins' though, you can never be 100% sure that the owner has given you all the relevant facts, but that goes for every stray dog too, we know nothing at all about them when they come in His pics tell a story though, I think it's fair to say he's having a whale of a time.....

Hi me and my family are very interested in jake however what is the criteria for adopting with yourselves as we have a lot of love to offer and he is lush x He is luffly eh? You'll need to go to the Home and speak to the staff. They will have up-to-date information regarding any interests (reserves), vet reports, etc. Be quick - he's going to fly out ;D Good luck peeps, and if you do go down and Jake isn't 'the one' please do have a wander around the kennels and consider some of our other doglets - they are all very special in their different ways

Jake is an absolute pleasure to walk. He wasn't phased by the snow whatsoever today and had fun ploughing his head along the trail until the snow had piled up on his nose. He tugs on the lead when you get going but if we stopped walking he very calmly sat down beside us waiting very patiently until we were ready to move on. He will sit and give his paw when asked (or at least when you offer him a doggy biscuit) and takes his treats from your hand very slowly and carefully. He'll bring much joy to his new owner/s.

I took the gorgeous Jake out for a good 2 hour walk today which was great fun all round! We met up with Becky and Malibu and they got on like a house on fire! Jake even gave Malibu a few licks on the mouth! his tail didn't stop wagging for the whole walk, he is such a happy fella! He loves a fuss, loves treats and loves other dogs. Can not say a bad word about him! I took him to some water as he kept looking longingly at the river and he had a whale of a time! Typical water living spaniel, he was even dunking his head fully under the water looking for sticks!! He got very excited whenever we passed children and would make a perfect family pet. Here he is with me and Malibu... Water baby! Sitting nicely for treats... Such a handsome boy!

Thanks! not hard to get good photos of Jakey, he's a very handsome fella! He and Malibu took to each other straight away, I know Mali likes to have a little bark sometimes but I really do think it's through excitement rather than aggression. Aslong as he's introduced to dogs correctly he's the perfect gentleman!
