Max had a brilliant week last week,he made friends with Muffin (good dogs). So we gave Max a trip to the beach. "Right Elsie to the ice cream van" Needless to say he was fab walked really nicely and enjoyed every minute. "Never mind the sea....where's the ice cream van!!" He plodded along in his own sweet way and I can safely say he was pretty tired at the end. But he had a great time,Max would suit a peaceful household where he could just give all his love to someone because he really loves company. Max you're such a lovely boy someone is going to be really lucky to adopt you. Love you mate xx

Max had more adventures this week.... We went to the students union and he was amazing impeccable behaviour but all the dogs were fab fair play. He is also a big hit with the ladies and was dishing out staffie snogs left right and centre. I'm so proud of you Max you are a credit to the dogs home and someone will be lucky enough to have you. "Hello ladies of course you can have a picture" "Yes ladies form an orderly que" "All this fuss...I'll park my bum here "

Max has been busy this week but he was still eager for a walk on Saturday morning . He trots along at a lovely pace through the trading estates and along the Ely trail. As we made our way back to CDH he took great interest in three men in their canoes/kayaks on the river and still had plenty of energy to jump up on the brick wall at the end of the lane (photos on fb). It's time for you to leave CDH to the warmth and love of your own home good luck Max Bxx

Max had a night at hotel du dogs... Here are his favourite things 1.Walks "Yep I love a good walk me....where's the mud" 2.Snoozing "Wake me up when Pobwl cym has finished Helen " Not much to ask for an older boy is it really? He loves company so if your looking for a loyal, loving friend who requires one good walk and plenty of love look in the direction of Max. Love you mate or as Helen has nicknamed you blockhead xxx

Had the pleasure of the lovely Max's company on Thursday We had a good walk up Llandough, about 90 mins, and for an older boy he keeps up the pace well! We did stop for a little rest by Llandough church, and Max decided to sit with me ( well more so ON me ) for a few mins, then he decided he wanted to walk some more. Max is golden, passes other dogs no problem, nothing but a waggy tail Oh, and Staffy snogs as standard! . If you are looking for a easy going, happy in his own fur older boy, Max is your guy! Good luck Max xx

Had another lovely walk with Max yesterday with my daughter! We went up to Penarth marina, and he loves his walks! He is a dog on a mission when out walking, you can see how much he enjoys being out He loved looking out at the boats, and had a nice little cwtch on the bench when we had got to our destination! Filmed a little clip of max on our walk! He is a dog on a mission! LOVES his walks! xx

Max is a wonderful staffie with excellent manners. Anyone who decides to take Max home will be so lucky. He is an excellent walker, is completely unfazed by other dogs, and is wonderfully affectionate. He was happy to give kisses all throughout his walk this morning. He will make someone a wonderful companion!

It's heartbreaking to see a dog this lovely finding himself in kennels. I do hope his family is missing him as much as he is missing them. In the meantime, thank you for all the lovely updates on him

Sadly Belle his family don't miss him... But his family at Cardiff dogs love him greatly: I give him respite when I can,he is a sweet beautiful boy,he loves company and that is key here he would suit someone who's around a lot. He hasn't put a foot wrong he's polite and loving. A little push and hopefully Max will have a deserving and happy home. Love you Max xx

Today I lost a piece of my heart to Max. I have met max a number of times when at the home, either on his way up & down the lane or waiting patiently to go back inside, but today I was privileged enough to spend the whole day with Max & he stole my heart.
We picked Max up this morning & set off on an adventure which saw us cruising around dinas, Barry & then making our way towards llantwit major to find a beach. Max was really good in the car and loved nothing more than looking out the window (and licking it!)to see where we were heading. After our journey we arrived near Monk Nash beach (dog friendly all year round!). We set off on our walk towards the beach along a nature trail, nothing fazed this boy at all - horses, passing dogs, lots of mud! And stiles - which he cleared no problemo! Sadly the mud got too much for us humans (mid calf!) so we didn't quite make the beach - but next time we will buddy!
After a good walk we headed to a lovely country pub, max we a dream in the pub, he swooned all the ladies & smiled at all he saw, we had a 3 course lunch & he was very patient throughout!
Next it was back in the car for a stroll at Barry Island! Once again, max was a dream!
Afrer a very busy day Max had a snooze on the way back to the home - what's better than staffy snores eh?!
Max is fabulous, he's charming, he's gent & he's so affectionate! I have no idea why he is still waiting a forever home, do people get put off by him being slightly 'older'? Because actually he's not as old as you may think; to see him jump the stiles today & do all the walking we did, you would not say he is old. Age is just a number eh buddy!
This boy will make someone very happy! I hope he's not waiting too much longer for a human to love.

Max stole my heart from the day I first saw him , I really hope he steals the heart of someone who can take him home forever! He's such a sweet man with plenty of life in him , he is perfectly mannered around other dogs and can be a real dream on the lead when not determined to investigate something that has caught the attention of his nose . He's such a cuddle pup when he wants to be , he'll lean into you for a cwtch or if you're sitting down he'll sit on you to get even closer. Don't be put off that he's not a actually a pup anymore. He's still a sweetheart that can rock the puppy-eyed look! Hope you find your forever home soon Max , I'll be taking you on lovely walks until you go - L

So it turns out my sweet gentleman had a day out yesterday , you can really tell the difference in his personality today , it was a well deserved break I think! Here's max trotting along with no troubles at all , barely pulling and being well behaved around passing dogs! "Who? Me? I'm a good boy?!" Max always looks back at me on walks , not sure if he is checking if I'm still there or what! Even when it was time to head back he came when I asked him to. He can be a bit stubborn when its time to go home , probably just because he wants to walk forever! He loves his walkies with all the vols. Hoping you have a someone who will take you on walkies forever soon!

Got to take the wonderful Max for another walk today. He really is such a gentleman, so well mannered and affectionate. He is a lovely boy to walk, and we had absolutely no pulling all through the walk. He is such a lovely chappie, and like others have said before, always looks behind during a walk, just to keep an eye... Max, if you find yourself at CDH next week, I will most certainly be looking to walk you, but I sincerely hope that in the meantime you find your forever home. I mean, who could resist this face??? Someone please please please take Max home and love him forever...

What lovely write ups for Max. I'd previously been reading the brilliant reviews from Rotterdam and love the fact that Max likes his time down at the local pub ) It sounds like he's had some special time out of the home recently. I got the chance of walking him today and have to agree he's a really lovely dog. He is very well behaved and can walk for miles. Good luck little fella I hope you find a loving home really soon xx
