Max and I went for a little adventure today in the wind and rain , but I was prepared for the elements this time so there was nothing slowing us down! Max loved having a good sniff at everything today , a little impatient at crossing roads but I think he was just that eager to walk! As always Max is a gentleman when passing other dogs , some of the more excitable ones do grab his curiosity but he quickly gets back to business. He was definitely feeling more adventurous than I was , wanting to go up this very steep hill , I could only see it ending badly so we kept going down the nice ~flat~ path. We did however find this very large area of high grass and Max loved it! His tail was going wild the whole time! Although this brave man is lacking in a sense of imminent danger (mainly for me), lots of brambles weren't a deterrent to this hardy adventurer , but I chose a less thorny route All in all , a fabulous walk today , despite the weather. He even stopped me for a little cwtch and showed me his best paw for the treats that he sniffed out in my pocket. Till next time little gent!

I had a brilliant walk with Max yesterday. He really is such good company. I think he's got used to the trips down the pub as he pulled me into the beer garden at Barons Court and did not want to leave! An all round lovely dog x

Max wasn't available for me to walk yesterday morning (and now that I've seen the pictures from the beer launch I assume he had experienced a little visit from the hangover fairy and was nursing a sore head...) I was honestly gutted! I haven't had my weekly dose of handsome! Love you Max!!!

Max was at the beer launch Thursday and he was fantastic. "Roll up roll up get your lovely beer" He was in his element in the Landsdowne and was sat with the ladies as usual.. "Ok ladies enough chat....get the beers in" I know I keep saying it but he loves company and I'm so proud of him. Love ya blockhead see you next week x

We had our first day as volunteer walkers on Saturday, and Max was the second dog we took out. He was an absolute star and a perfect gentleman. He's a strong walker and very determined when we set off, and very little seemed to distract him from going forwards - not cars or cyclists or even really other dogs. After ten minutes out, he was quite content to walk with slack on the lead. Other dogs interested him a little but he picked up our cues very quickly when we wanted him to move away from something/someone. Our first walk was about 20/30 mins and at first he seemed a little uncertain about us, moreso my dad, so we thought he might be a little anxious of men. Within ten minutes, however, he'd warmed right up to us and I think it was just a case of meeting someone new. We had a few quick cuddles towards the end of our walkies and his tail was wagging away soon enough! Unlike Bella, who we walked first, Max didn't think my photography skills were up to scratch and refused to pose for very long! Most of my photos of him are a very determined doggy blur. Having run out of time on the Saturday, I promised Max we'd walk him again when we next came up and this morning we appeared for his wakey walkie! I can't say enough how sweet a dog he is! He was much more confident with us on this second walk, so he's quick enough to trust, and we had a nice ramble up Grangemoor Park for an extra long walk this time. Once we were away from the traffic his head picked up and you could tell he was much happier, so while he didn't react poorly to cars etc, he was definitely more relaxed away from the busy roads. Again, he was very responsive whenever we wanted him to move away from something or change direction. We let him lead the way for the most part, which may or may not have gotten us very muddy, but ever the gentleman he slowed right down as we carefully picked our way down the steeper and muddier slopes. At one point my dad and Max went on ahead down the last muddy slope and, as I very very slowly made my way towards them, Max turned to watch and make sure I was on my way. Such a sweetheart! (Sadly I didn't catch an earlier moment when we tried to give him some water and he thought at first it was food. The look he gave us!) While I definitely have a soft spot for Max and would love to walk him again, I really hope he finds his forever home soon. He needs a nice comfy and permanent sofa to cwtch on!

Loving all the write ups my boy gets. It's lovely to see he's so popular. Standard issue I walked him with our Elsie today... Despite my joking they are good buddies. Will I get fed up of singing his praises, probably not he's such a sweet boy I just want him to have a family he can give all his love to. Not asking for much really am I? Blockhead see you next week hopefully you can have a night at the hotel du dogs xx

Oh my god, I'm so happy for Max! I couldn't find his thread and I had a horrible sinking feeling for a fleeting moment until I saw where it'd been moved to. So glad he's found a comfy sofa and loving family. Sad I won't be able to walk him anymore but knowing he's safe and happy, I'm sure I'll cope! Hope his new family are able to share some photos once he's settled.
